Remember when I first got hold of this? (You can read the article here if you need reminding!) I told you to watch this space, and here it is; the verdict is out on Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I love it.

I have definitely seen a difference in my skin first thing in the morning, and I adore the ritual of applying it just before I go to sleep. I’ve been saving it for nights when I really need it (ie late nights, or ‘post-pub’) and it has made my skin much more hydrated and rejuvenated.

There’s no ‘bad stuff’ in this; just natural oils such as Lavender and Evening Primrose that absorb really easy and amazingly, don’t leave any oily residue! It’s perfect for me to use the night before a shoot to really give my skin a boost and leave it looking rested and fresh! I can really see this becoming a Kiehl’s bestseller.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, £35.

Hey thanks for this Sol! These newbies are all copying me, lol – I’ve been here with my gap-teeth for 9 years!

Can this be used in place of Estee Lauder’s ANR or can they be used together?

    • http://www.amodelrecommends.com Ruth Crilly

      Hey Isabel,
I wouldn’t use them together as they may have ingredients in that don’t agree! If you wanted to moisturise afterwards, then you could use a light moisturiser – it depends how dry your skin tends to be. I have been using the Kiehl’s alone, but I’ll admit I’ve started to use about four or five drops and really covered my skin!

Thanks for the input Ruth! I’m thinking that they are actually alternatives to each other. I’m using the ANR now but if Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery works for the same purpose then I’d rather use Kiehl’s. Hoping to score some samples of the Midnight Recovery. I’ll try it without my moisturizer first and see how that works out!

I love ANR too, but I like the smell of the MRC and the fact that it’s almost entirely natural. Good luck! There’s samples of MRC at Harrods and Selfridges. x

    Thanks for the tip! =)

    Hi Ruth
I have oily skin and I’m looking for a serum to put on at night, just something light. Do you think this would work for oily skin? I’ve also heard good things about Origins the perfect world serum and Dr Wheils for origins Mega Mushroom Skin Relief serum. Have you used these? Sorry for the long winded question – I’m a bit serum stumped!x

@Claire NUDE does a great serum that’s ok on oily skin and so do Murad – if you have very oily skin don’t ever use an oil, the Midnight OIl would be a bad idea! x
