My hunt for a new tinted moisturiser took a new turn last month, when Nuz Shugaa (my skin guru and facial guardian angel!) recommended that I try Madara’s Tinting Fluid.

Madara is a range of beauty products (skin, hair body) that is entirely natural and organic. No nasty surprises in any of their formulas, they’re gentle and kind on the skin and, because of the absence of harsh chemicals and ‘hidden’ ingredients, you won’t get any adverse reactions or sensitivity.

The Madara Tinting Fluid is a very light, quick-drying fluid that offers the same coverage as a tinted moisturiser, without having the heavier moisturiser ‘feel’. It just glides on and seems absolutely weightless! I have tested out this fluid quite extensively (I used Sun Flower but there’s also a lighter shade called Moon Flower) and it has great staying power, but above all is just a lovely way to get coverage without actually feeling as though you’re wearing makeup!

The formula gives a great sunkissed glow and is easy to apply. Work with it quickly because it dries fast, but mistakes are easily rectified with a little moisturiser worked in. On the topic of moisturiser; if you have dry skin, you’d need to use a moisturiser underneath the Fluid, but if you get oily days, like me, this is a wondrous product to use on its own.

Watch the video to see the effect and how easy it is to use! You can get Madara on the internet from loads of places, including Ecorium and So Organic, and if you’re in London, pop down to The Beauty Lounge and grab some! It’s £21.50 for 50ml, and lasts forever.

OK I want it! I have been using the watermelon tinted moisturiser by Korres (for years and years) and although I like it a lot I just wanted to try something else. Seems like a good product for sensitive skins like mine. Thanks!

I am very intrigued by the Madara products, I’m gonna post a review on the shower soap and face lotions, too. Great video, I share your opinions on organic products!! xx

What Ally said. The videos aren’t showing up with all the other subscriptions. This seem to happen from time to time though.

Hmm. I have looked into this and kind of ‘rebooted’ my channel. Hopefully that will work. However, I have seen that others have had this problem, including Pixiwoos, one of the most MASSIVE channels. So I’m in very good company! More reason to keep up-to-date with the website!! x x x

I love this product, we are about to start stocking it on Cult Beauty because it is a top find. Not too pricey, easy container that doesn’t either squirt out loads or leave you with repetitive strain injury trying to get the bugger out. It feels like a medium hydration day cream, covers like the classic Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, but without all the extra chemicals.

This won’t help when the spot from hell arrives the morning of a hot date, but it enhances and evens your complexion is a really natural looking way. No-one will be able to tell you are wearing make up.

Yes, it’s great stuff. Smells really herby too, which I like! Feels like it’s doing you good!

Do you have any problems with the pump? Mine comes out only if I shake it or if I leave it upside down, it just comes out and leaks onto the cap.

No problems here with it actually dispensing, although it is quite runny… x

    Hi there!
I’ve been looking for reviews of tinted moisturizers everywhere and finally stumbled upon this! I had a look for this product online and it doesn’t seem as easy to get everywhere in the world… As I live in Asia I was wondering if you could recommend a more ‘popular’ one? Have you tried the Laura Mercier one?

    Many thanks in advance!
    xoxo Laura

    Hi, Laura,

Like you, I’ve been totally obsessed with this tinted fluid since I first heard about it from Ruth’s YouTube channel. Unfortunately for me, there aren’t many in depth reviews on this product, but I decided I’m still going to go through with trying it out.

I did a quick search yesterday on Madara’s website, they have stores in Asia–I only took a quick glance so the one country I can recall is Taiwan (because I’m originally from there).

What’s seductive about the Madara tinted fluid, for me, is that, from what I was able to gather from other bloggers, it’s light and more like a moisturizer than makeup; it gets absorbed and lasts all day. I personally hated Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizers–they wouldn’t absorb, they sat on my face and it felt super greasy (I used it in the summer time, it was super humid where I was, and I sweat easily, plus my skin is super oily in the summer, too). This is my personal opinion of the product.

I currently use BECCA’s luminous skin colour (been using it since summer) and I prefer it to any other foundations, etc. I’m also LOVING Caudalie’s Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid SPF 10–not exactly a tinted moisturizer, but it makes my complexion look SO NICE and it totally tones down the redness I get from my problematic skin.

    Hi, Ruth!
Quick question, are you still using Madara’s Sun Flower? I’m interested in Moon Flower, but I’m just curious as to how you feel about the product now, if you have any feelings toward it whatsoever?

    Thanks,

    Catt
