Some Cheap-as-Chips Festive Glitter!

I’m not a huge fan of glitter – it gets everywhere and is difficult to remove. But I put my own hang-ups aside for the evening and recorded a very Christmassy makeup video using a selection of budget and high-street brands. One brand that stood out as being incredible value was MUA at Superdrug – everything costs just £1, so it’s a great way to try out new trends, or buy products that will only be used a few times. The matte eyeshadow (shade 17) is almost identical to the colour of my skin, and so it’s a useful shadow to have lying about – I can use it on it’s own just to hide redness and discoloration, or as a base shade.

17’s Starry Eyes Trios are also well worth a try – the shadows are really pigmented and the coppery gold colour in the ‘Neptune’ trio is perfect for Christmas!

Shopping List: MUA Blush in Shade 1, Liquid Liner in Shade 3, and matte Eyeshadow in Shade 17, all £1 from Superdrug. 17 Starry Eyes Trio, £4.99 and Glitter Liners, £3.99, from Boots. Supershock Silver Gel Liner, £6 from Avon. Je t’aime palette, £8 at Accessorize. ‘Keep a Secret’ Vinyl Gloss, £4.99 from Rimmel. Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ mascara, £8.19 from Superdrug. The Balm, Mary Lou-Manizer, £16.50 from LookFantastic.

bwahaha, just watched this (I’m a little late I know) and you killed me with your ‘unless its called “peel here”, hyuk hyuk’.

love the 17 starry eyes… couldn’t be bothered to buy it when i first swatched it amongst pre-christmas madness in the shops but am now in Hong Kong and really annoyed that i don’t have it!!! the HK makeup scene flusters me with its unlimited choice of random things (a range of orange brow pencils for those asians who dye their hair orange, anyone?) and seriously rude shop assistants. i miss boots :(

although saying that, i did pick up the mary lou manizer yesterday here purely based on your review of it all those days/weeks/months ago on youtube – also picked up 3 of the eyeshadows and am excited to use them!

hope you had a lovely christmas and have something jolly and merry planned for ringing in the new year :) i’ve been a fan of the blog since it began and you deserve all the success of this past year xxxx
