NARS Beautiful Life

NARS Beautiful Life You may/may not remember me harping on about a NARS bronzing trio over the summer – it came in an identical zip-up compact just like the one above. What an amazing idea! A zip-up compact! I honestly do not know why more people aren’t making them – there’s no chance of them flipping open and ruining the inside of your handbag and they look ever so chic. It’s modern but the way that modern should be done; practical yet covetable.

Inside there are four gorgeous lip shades and two ‘multiples’ (if you’re not familiar with NARS’ multiples, they’re a multi-purpose creamy-textured tint that can be used on lips and cheeks as well as for highlighting, depending on the particular shade). I cannot wait to have a play about with this one – I know that it doesn’t look particularly exciting, but who uses all of those wacky greens and bright purples anyway?! I’d much rather have a selection of shades that I’ll actually wear.

Don’t you think that this would make the most excellent stocking filler? Hear that men?! Just a hint…

Just read your husband’s very funny review of the Aenaon Villas Hotel at Mr and Mrs Smith. He’s sold me on the place.

What happened to Keep Calm and Shop?

I went to space n k this week specifically to purchase a Nars multiple. WHY didn’t they tell me about this little gem? I got ‘Riviera’, a very sheer cool pink with warmer gold glistening undertones. While I love it, I never use up a full-size make-up item. All the fun I could have had with the ‘beautiful life’ compact! Well hopefully it’ll be around for a while when I can justify another treat! xx

I really agree with you that some palettes out there do contain some illustrious colours that we, as women, probably won’t use unless you’re posing for Vogue! This looks really handy and I’d personally use everything in it! My gripe with pallettes is that they come with eyeshadows (I’m not an eyeshadow girl, just don’t think they’ll go well with glasses….) so if I’m ever given one, I’ll only use the other 50% of it, like lipglosses and blush. But with this, I’ll happily use everything! Oooooohhhh, I want this now :p xx

Yes! Let’s say it louder, “EXCELLENT STOCKING FILLER!!” ahem :)

It’s odd, isn’t it, that zip up pallettes aren’t more common, considering what a practical solution they are. And so true about the colour thing. I get all lustful for some jewelled colour, and then all it gets to do is sit as a swatch on my hand every so often! It’s a bit sad really, I still madly want them, but I should be sensible, and just buy what I’ll wear … lol, N.Y. Resolution? p.s. Ooooh, Joliebox arrived! V. nice … thanks so much! xxx

A few Bobbi Brown palettes have been zip up. I have the denim and rose one and I completely agree, much more practical!

I love the look of this Ruth! Do you find there’s any difference in consistency between the multiples in palette form and the sticks? I have a few multiples and really like them, but I’ve head that the palette multiples don’t blend quite so readily?

    • Ruth says:

@Dempeaux I haven’t had a good play yet, I’ll let you know! I would imagine the consistency would be slightly different, yes, I suppose! xx
