Gorgeous Lancome lippies. Shades, from left to right: 159B, 146B, 200B and 340B. The three to the right are my favourites from the entire range, but there are loads of shades including quite a bonkers purple! I do envy anyone brave (or crazy) enough to wear purple on their lips. I have enough of a confidence meltdown wearing red!

The “In Love” lipsticks have an absolutely beautiful texture – very creamy and moisturising, but at the same time really light. They last well, even if the juicy finish pares down to more of a stain after a couple of hours, and I don’t find them drying.

My absolute favourite shade of all is 146B, “Miss Coquelicot” which I very embarrassingly pronounced “Miss Cock-a-lot” the other day. Don’t worry, it’s not my worst faux pas. Here’s Miss Cockalot on my lips (Dear God, what a sentence):

A Model Recommends

You’ve probably seen a version of this picture already in the Old-School Glamour post… It’s a nice corally-red, though, isn’t it? Very wearable. The packaging is quite cute and compact, more pretty-pretty-save-me-a-keepsake than total-luxe, but desirable all the same.

Anyway, you’ll be seeing more of these little beauties in a video very soon!

  1. I have 379N and 340B and I adore them both.
I’m really impressed with the formula and the colour range, they are fantastic. I’m eyeing many others now.
The only thing that bothers me is that the tubes have only the number and not the name of the colour. And the number dissapears quite quickly (rubbed off). I put a layer of clear nail polish now on the bottom of the tube to mantain the number there.

I bought Dans Sea Bras today and it’s beautiful, smells lovely too- Dan has excellent taste:)

  3. [...] really – there are two very bright lipsticks (the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain and the Lancome Miss Coquelicot) and then there’s a nude (the Chanel), a peach (the Sisley) and a barely-there stain (the YSL [...]

Oh gosh I’m sorry I posted the comment twice because I didn’t think it worked the first time! But I usually wear pinks and berry colors! Which do you think is more hydrating?(: that is usually what I look for! <3 thank you for your help.(:

Hi Ruth, I wasn’t debating whether to splurge on one of these or one of the Dior addict lipsticks (if you have tried them) which would you recommend?(-: And which shade would you suggest for super pale skin? I love your blog & videos!<33 xx

    • Ruth says:

@Grace the Dior is more “juicy” I think, oooh, this is a hard one! I suppose it would come down to who did the shade you liked most! What kind of shades do you usually wear? x

Can’t wait to see the video :D
My sister has one, the texture is incredible, I love it! Unfortunately the colour she choose doesn’t suite me at all (I look like a severe teacher with it lol), so I can’t steal it from her ^^
Anyway this is on my list and I recommand this range of lipstick to anyone who talks to me about finding the perfect one (soooo in love with the texture *_*)

I’m debating whether to splurge on one of these or one of the Dior addict lipsticks, which do you prefer? (Unless you haven’t tried the Dior ones!) Also, what shade would you recommend for super pale skin? Love you Ruth! xx

Just wanted to say that you are awesome and I love your frank clear views and opinions on things.
I love checking your blog for updates! you rock! xxx

  12. Ah! Lipstick, I would really love your opinion on this, Ruth. I’m looking for a really, good definitive, orange/red. So far Ignite by Illamasqua is the only one that’s really knocked me for six, but I don’t think it has a huge amount of staying power. I was amazed at how much the shade suited me. I’m wearing it in my blog avatar photo.

I went to House of Fraser at Westfield and they veered more towards coral/red than orange/red. I honestly didn’t think it would be this hard to find. I’m wondering if there’s a counter I overlooked? Bourjois do a lipstick called Rouge Fashion which is nice, but still more in Camp Red than Camp Orange.

I liked the Lancome shade you are wearing. It brings out your colour nicely. I really liked their Rouge Absolu range. I treat my Lancome lipsticks as premiums on my budget, for special events. x x

@Yasmin oooh. I’ll have a little think for you! xx

    • Sophiabencks says:

Hi, sorry I just read your comment – have you checked out Estee Lauder Pure Colour lipstick in Wild Fire, or Topshop lipstick in Rio Rio or Infrared, they are all quite orange based reds…

      • Hi Sophia,
Thanks for the comment, I did have a look at the Estee Lauder counter at HOF but I will definitely look again. Thanks for taking the time to suggest that. Not looked at Topshop, will have a mooch! x
