Chanel Rouge Allure – Le Click

Beauty Face Makeup Review

You may call me a Packaging Pervert, because I absolutely am and I’m not embarrassed to admit it. My latest fetish comes in the form of Chanel’s Rouge Allure lipsticks – sleek black packaging with (to the uninitiated) no apparent way in. Until you click the bottom and the gold inner casing comes sliding out! It’s….simply…packaging pornography. People moan about having to pay for the packaging on a product, but I could quite literally sit here and play with my Rouge Allure all day. (No euphemism there, so don’t look for one.)

This post is going to get spammed to high heaven, isn’t it? I’ve managed to include some good keywords so far! If you want to see the packaging magic then head over to Chanel’s beauty home page where you can see “Le Click” in action. (I’m on view number 23.)

Funny, after all of this excitement, that the first ad to grab my attention in the November issue of Vogue magazine was this:

I didn’t even see that it was for Rouge Allure at first, I just thought that it was a very striking image to choose for an Autumn-Winter magazine edition. Everyone else is doing warm, rich, dark tones and Chanel goes with something that looks distinctly high summer! Swimming Pool Blue in November? Very strange, but I like it. It caught my eye, at any rate.

You can see the delectable Rouge Allure lipsticks at

Funny, I was perving at this one yesterday. As a packaging design grad and makeup addict, I love super cool cosmetics packaging and I’m pretty sure this is going to be my next purchase. Just out of interest, what shade did you go for? I’m currently torn between 91 Seduisante, 88 Evanescente and 98 Coromandel (decisions, decisions).
Also have you checked out the new Bond themed nail varnishes from OPI yet? definitely well worth a look.

package pervert! that made me lol! but it’s so true, rogue allure lipstick is definitely brilliant package and also a great lipstick. and i also found the package alluring!

One a different note, i have a foot beautification place to recommend. The Margaret Dabbs foot Spa and Nail Clinic, located on New Cavendish Street (just off the Marylebone High Street need) there ‘medical pedicure’ is by far the best i have tried and left my feet baby soft. Also in that part on town a couple of streets down from New Cav Steet on the same side of Marylebone High Street there is the most fab organic and natural beauty store called ‘CONTENT Beauty & Wellbeing’ along 14 Bulstrode Street. The shop is a little gem and you must check it out. It’s also on the web.

The first lipstick I ever bought was the Rouge Allure (already 4 or 5 years ago!). I bought it for the packaging if I’m honest, and I’ve loved/hated the colour on and off, but I always love opening and closing it (even if I’m not even using it). So, you’re definitely not alone in this…

We are funny old souls, aren’t we, with the things we end up buying! x

Here’s another word to add to the spamming (wicked smile). I look like a hooker when I wear lipstick, and a real cheap one at that! Obviously, I’ve never worn lipsticks, though I’m amazed at the collection I have amassed somehow, despite decluttering. Now I’m in a desperate situation re lipsticks b/c my lips are always white, blue or colorless, so I need to stop scaring innocent souls. I have blond to light brown hair depending on how long I’ve gone without highlights, etc., green or blue eyes depending on my mood, and fair to medium coloring that never tans, only burns. I just got Chanel “Boy” (too sheer), have Chanel’s “bonhur,” didn’t work. Nars Galaxy Girl is closer but too pale. Fooled around with the Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on lip pencil, in wall flower and not so good. Could go on for hours…. How does one get the right color? Bloodless in WV.
Btw: my Dior foundation and brushes came in today with other “Ruth Goodies” Need to hide these many, many things from hubs in order to protect his heart! Can see “being a girl” coming up soon, complete w/ DIY specials. And thanks for any lip color suggestions you can offer. xx

HI! Have you tried swatching Nars’ Dolce Vita or Dior’s Grege 1947? I find Dolce Vita better for me as far as ‘my lips but better’ look but the Dior is lovely although a tad lighter.

      Worth a shot.

Bought myself a Chanel Rouge allure in Determinee a couple of weeks ago in Paris, just picked it up,swatched it and bought it because i like the colour, there was no clicky packing on display just the bullet to swatch it from, you can imagine my joy when i got it home and discovered the clicky goodness!!!… I even pull it out of my bag on occasion, not to put it on,just to click it… I am a total packaging pervert :)

I bought Rouge Passion (14) last week and it’s changed my life! I’d wanted a red lipstick for years, but as i have dyed bright red hair, you can imagine the difficulty (and past trials and errors and disasters). I went to the Chanel counter almost casually thinking noone would be able to help. But the lady at the counter (beautiful, very professional and obviously very competent) immediately found the perfect shade for me. We were both almost shocked at how good it looked!

I SWEAR people were much nicer to me afterwards and i even got a few envious looks from women in the street.

    Proper Chanel empowerment. Oh oui!

Oh my god yess!!!! I am addicted to clicking them in and out!!! I’ve bought four so far… oh the shame. And theres barely a dent in any of them because i use them so sparingly as the shades I got are quite potent except for one. So far excessive, obscure, audace and flamboyante are in the collection. I hope they don’t come out with new nifty packaging… I have rent to pay!
