Christmas Gift Guide: Big Beauty!

OK, here it is folks! The first Christmas Gift Guide. I’m only doing a few this year – Luxury, which is this one, Mini, which is coming up (smaller gifts and stocking fillers) and then one on the Christmas cosmetic collections and fragrances. The last two aren’t really gift guides, I suppose, more beauty videos with a festive background, but still good if you’re stuck for inspiration.

How do you like my snow scene in the background? Let me know. My entire house is flecked with fake snow, it’s a nightmare! I hope my hoover doesn’t pack in!

Oooh, by the way, the nail polish I’m wearing in the vid is Diorling from the Dior Grand Bal collection. It’s very, very sheer so you do have to layer it up quite a bit, but it’s worth it for the gorgeous champagne colour. It’s £20 with free delivery on FeelUnique.com

  1. Ruth, do you pay for these products or are they given to you for free as PR samples?

Other blogs and websites provide this information.

  2. WoW! What lovely gifts. You have lucky friends. Santa has bought me (I bought myself) the Laura Mercier collection in Pistachio (£25 from Selfridges) It is Bloomin’ Fabulous. XxX

  3. Would love to try the Aromatherapy Associates Minis. The whole list is excellent, actually. Thanks!

  4. I would love any of these presents in my stocking, great ideas! Ruth, do you mind giving me your opinion in Creme de la Mer? I am getting married next month but have been too busy for facials, and I don’t want to start now in case it makes me break out. So I’m thinking of buying an amazing moisturiser that will make my skin glow and not dry out or become sensitive in cold weather. I don’t think you have reviewed it, and I was wondering if it is just a bit over-hyped.x

    • Yeah. It’s not for me! It’s very moisturising but I just don’t “get” it! Try the new Alpha-H Rejuvenating moisturiser every other night, it’s AMAZING! What skin type do you have? xx

      • I’ve came back to check for a reply, so thanks for replying! My skin is basically normal, but can be red and dehydrated in winter. I’m almost 30 but my skin is quite good. I’m currently alternating La Roche Posay in the daytime, and Liquid Gold, Advanced Night Repair and Alpha-H Age Delay at night. Quite a combination! I must try to get a sample of Creme de La Mer, I have heard such mixed reviews x

  5. Hi Ruth! We absolutely adore your site! I would love for you to try out The Douvall’s Organic Argan Oil Range – which includes a Bronzer, All-in-One Cleanser and a Moisturiser all available from Urban Retreat at Harrods. Your PR contact form is not working so I was wondering if you had an email address so I can send you over some further information?

    Lauren x

    • I have the bronzer already, was messing with it the other night – how funny! My email is contact@ and then the site URL without the www at the front! Sorry, long-winded description but I hate getting spam-botted! ; )

  6. Do you think ordering from the fresh UK store is too risky? I live outside of the UK but don’t know if I should provide all my info by phone to them…

    • Do you mean in terms of data security? I wouldn’t say that they would be a risk… I would imagine that mail order is safer than storing details online, these days, but don’t quote me on that! Anyone else have experience with ordering from Fresh? xx
