My Top 5 Skincare Ranges

top five skincare brands

I’ve done a little run-down of the top five skincare ranges of 2012. Now I’m talking about entire ranges here, not about individual products. If I did a top five products then the list might look a little different – this is a video about complete (or almost complete) ranges that I’ve tried, tested and loved. I should do a top products video, really, and perhaps I’ll try and do that early next year – things like the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask and StriVectin‘s SD Eye Cream would definitely be way up there in the higher realms of my list!

Details about each of the five ranges are below the video pane, should you wish to click for more details or prices. I hope that this video is helpful for people who feel a little lost when confronted with a thousand different brands, all claiming to do different things. Each of the brands I talk about have a very comprehensive range of products that are quite clearly labelled as to their purpose and effect. Many of the products have been reviewed in reasonable depth here on A Model Recommends, so do use the search box at the top of the page to have a little explore!

  1. Hi Ruth! I knew your youtube channel & blog a few days ago and I´m already big fan of them, I´d like to ask you a couple of questions, I´d like to try the alpha h range but I live in the south of Spain where it´s summer almost all year round and I´m afraid acids and sun are enemies… what do you recommend? And I´d like to tell you something you might be interested, there is a pharmacy “miracle cream” which has become massively popular here because a very famous 60 year old spectacular woman dropped in a flight without realizing. The cream is pure collagen, aloe vera & asian spark extract, it´s 5€ and you won´t find a bad review on it, just the opposite, how often would you use a product like this?
Thanks in advance and keep being so kind and real! I ♥ you!

  2. hey Ruth, i discovered your website lately and i love it! You seem very enthousiastic about the Alpha-h products and i’d like to try some of them to. I live in France and i’ve never seen this brand before, do you know if there’s any store that sells alpha-h products in france?

  3. Hi Ruth,

I am a big fan of the Laroche Posay range, amazing efficacy for a great price point here in Canada. Just recommended Effaclar Duo to a friend after reading your post and it totally cleared up the spots she’s had for a year!!

Working for a skincare company I often find myself mixing up my LP products with an alarming amount of other targeted products which often I cannot resist trying for “research purposes” of course :)

Most products target specific concerns and before I know it, after cleansing, toning, exfoliating and hydrating I am on layer 6 of product!!!

Recently I began thinking that perhaps beyond layer 2 the product on top is unlikely to penetrate and work its magic, it also might be reacting to the product underneath creating an undesired ‘situation’ on my face? non?

I was wondering if you could do a post, discuss or explain how you go about layering your daily routine products and how you go between and layer your targeted regimens.

All the best from Canada !
