Sunday Tittle Tattle

beauty box deal

1) Our very own British Beauty Blogger (BBB) has created a beauty box (the BBB-BB?!) and it’s on sale from today. There are only 500 available and each contains a selection of British Beauty Blogger‘s top makeup and skincare product finds – some of them full size. You can see a full list of products on the site but the box includes such gems as the Bourjois Cream Blush, Elemis Tri Enzyme Face Mask, Benefit Porefessional, Lanolips and Trilogy Rosehip Oil. Each box is £15 plus P&P and you can get one here.

topshop flat gold sandals

2) These Topshop sandals are so ridiculously comfy! I found them in that section with all the hangy-up shoes – a section I’d not normally look in, because I want my shoes in a box not on a coathanger – but boy am I glad I found them. They are so brilliant! Soft leather, enough straps to keep your feet secure and a decent sole. Excuse-moi my chipped toenail polish in le photograph! They are sold out online because they went down to £10 in the sale, but they still have them at Oxford Circus. If you want to take a look at them online for a better photo then they are here. Sod’s law that I paid thirty quid for mine, right before the sales started! Boohoo.

tigers in red weather summer read

3) Another nice holiday read for you (and another of my Book Club texts): Tigers in Red Weather. I loved this! The writer, Liza Klaussmann, was actually a student on the very same MA course I’m about to complete, so it has been very inspirational reading her work. The novel takes us through the intertwined lives of two cousins and their immediate families and it’s full of long, lazy summer days and G&Ts and wartime shenanigans. Oh, and a murder and a creepy kid. Get it on Amazon: Tigers in Red Weather

pros and cons of 30 day shred

4) 30 Day Shred Status: I’m still on bloody level one! I’ve done something outrageous to my knees. They feel as though they’re made from bags of gravel. I think I may have been doing some over-zealous star-jumping. I’m on a short Shred Break but going to enter level 2 with full enthusiasm next week! Please let me know how you’re doing? (See my Shred post here.)

I need your sandals, they look so pretty and the straps are really unique. Have your lost any weight yet by doing the 30 day shred?

No, wasn’t doing it to lose weight but to tone up! x

I love 30 day shred however level 2 gave me very painful, swollen ankles! I had to have a break for 2 weeks. Now I just stick to doing level 1 every day. Level 2 includes some brutal squat thrusts – I think that’s what did me in!

      Warning noted! Thank you x

Oh dear, over-zealous star-jumping! You could probably swap some of the cardio exercises for something with less impact on your knees (I have arthritis and I find I’m better off not star-jumping like a lunatic!) x

Star jumps are truly a killer! x

Really love your blog, I found it recently and I am a huge fan already.
I find that the most comfortable walking shoes are in Zara and Topshop. Have a great Sunday.

Stop sharing things I need to buy!! I already did damage to my bank card shopping at French connection this week!! I bought a BBBBB too. Those sandals are gorgeous :/ off on a mission!!

(30 days shred sounds brutal but amazing, but I think I need to strengthen my joints first- that’s my excuse!) x

      Strengthen those joints. LOL. x

Just saw the BBBBB on her site and bought; really great value box, especially as a lot of the products are things I’d have to buy separately online, with individual postage costs. Especially looking forward to trialling the Elemis mask and the Melvita products. Just hope I get a Bourjois blush that isn’t the one I have already!

      Fingers crossed! x

I love the sandals! I had a pair very similar to these I bought in Barcelona that ended up totally destroyed because I used to wear them every day, but too late :-( sold out :-( Anyway thank you so much Ruth! I found another gorgeous leopard print pair!☺
I´m also starting level 2 Shred next week, this programme is great, the first couple of days I couldn´t move “LITERALLY” but now I feel much more agile and light, Anita is my girl! “almost there, almost there” “look at this abs, this is not coming for free” hehehehe

“Don’t dial it in…” “I have clients who are four hundred pounds who can do jumping jacks…”

hahahahahahaha You´re making me laugh so much! I don´t understand the first comment (if you can, explain it to me please) but the second one, Oh God! didn´t hear that, she´s so authentic! Did you start level 2? I did today and it´s a whole different story…

I love that Jane is doing a beauty box. I hear there may be another one for Christmas.

The BBBBB is sold out too! Though they might not have sent it outside of the UK so I wasn’t very hopeful. I can’t get any beauty boxes where I live which is a shame because I’m just the type of sucker that would buy them ;)

Ooh I like that little synopsis of the book you’ve just done :)

  10. July 8, 2013 / 12:11 am

Oh no! Wish I hadn’t been on a flight when this post went live- they’re all sold out:( But I am heading out to purchase the 30 day shred tomorrow so I’ll be starting Tuesday! Are you doing any diets alongside or just the exercise?

    • RuthCrilly
      July 8, 2013 / 10:48 am

Just the exercise! I always eat pretty well… x

Careful with the 30 day shred! My best friend (who was not in terrible shape to start) ended up in physical therapy for her knee problems after doing that program. Fortunately she is fine now, but for a few months she was pretty miserable with knee pain.

The sandals are back in stock in 37!
Just got a pair – the thought of owing a second pair of comfy flats is oh so very alluring after having destroyed my feet last week (heat & running in stiff pumps owww!)

I was too late for the BBB BB, the look on my face was pure ‘NOOOOOOOOooooo’, come November I’m going to camp out on her site and make sure I get the Christmas box…
