Latest “Budget” Makeup and Skincare Finds…

ruth crilly model beauty blog

“Budget” in inverted commas, obviously, because my budget picks never turn out to be quite as affordable as I hope they will be! I think that I just have expensive tastes, unfortunately. But these are still a darn sight more affordable than some of my usual bits and bobs – mascara from Bourjois (one of my new favourites), serums from No7 and a nice, ultra-bright lipstick from Avon. I don’t think that’s out yet, but I’ll give you a nudge when it is.

I’ve done something a bit jazzy with this video – mainly because I was so incredibly bored with editing. Let me know what you think, but please be kind. I’m in a fragile mood after the last lot of Youtube trolls did their evil work on me – you try not to let it bother you but sometimes they are just a total pain in le arse. Please click here to watch the video if you’re reading on the Daily Fix email. If you want to see lots of other videos with favourite beauty discoveries, then you’ll find a directory of them here.

I feel you with the ‘budget’ finds, I also pick products that are much pricier than I meant to! Don’t let the youtube trolls get to you, Ruth. They are probably just jealous of your fabulousness! Is that a word even hm….

Sometimes it´s fine to spend a bit more on products that will go in contact with your body :) But that isn´t always a guarantee that you are getting what you´re paying for. Great post by the way :)

Don’t pay any attention whatsoever to the trolls – they are jealous, cowardly, horrible little people. You have the last laugh: you’re beautiful and successful.

Love Riviera nailpolish! I´ve been wearing it non-stop, it´s the perfect colour for summer, the perfect red-orange classic shade! and I´ve also been loving the Garnier Clear Protect, I agree with you, not the perfect texture or smell but quite convenient!

I’m saving up to go to a wedding in Canada at Christmas so my usual Space N.K spree’s have gone out the window. Bad times. However, it has meant that I’ve made a few budget beauty discoveries – none better than Aldi Hydrating Serum! £1.99 and it really does the job. I’ve had skin compliments from my boyfriend since using it, I didn’t even get those when I was using Advanced Night Repair.

Also, Soap & Glory Pulp Friction body scrub is literally unbeatable – I won’t use anything else (well, unless a shiny new product comes out that piques my curiosity…)

I’m rambling now so I’ll shut up. Love your work!
