Testers Needed: New Effaclar Anti-Blemish System

skincare for acne and spots

**UPDATE: chosen testers are Harry (h.nortonshaw), frances.barcelos, bethanrabjohns, dianalloyd5 and Andrea Lutton. Thanks to everyone who left a comment, I wish I had hundreds of these sets. (I’m working on it!) Testers; you’ll receive an email shortly from La Roche-Posay.

La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Duo was an absolute skin-saver for me when I had my bout of adult acne two years ago. I had tried loads of different creams and treatments, but nothing really worked quite as well as the Effaclar; it seemed to be able to clear up congestion without being too harsh or drying. Since I first wrote about it, the feedback from readers who then went out and tried it has been brilliant. Obviously no one treatment will work for every single person, and some reported back that they found it a little too harsh (many of these people, it turned out, were from the US and using a different version which should only be applied to targeted areas!) but the majority of people loved Effaclar Duo and found, as I had done, that it worked a treat on angry, spotty skin.

The Effaclar Duo story is about to get a little bit more exciting, for those who suffer with spot-prone skin; this summer La Roche-Posay are launching a 3-Step Anti-Blemish System. Cleanser, toner and hydrating treatment. The cleanser and treatment (Effaclar Duo+) are already available, but the toner is something new and very, very wonderful. It’s a proper little powerhouse when it comes to smoothing the skin and reducing shine; it contains lactic and salicylic acids for a gentle exfoliation and zinc to help with excess oil. Salicylic is a bit of a hero when it comes to spots and cloggy skin; it gets right inside pores to unblock them and it’s also great at calming inflammation, despite its harsh-sounding name. The toner is alcohol free, non-drying and has been formulated with sensitive skin in mind so it should be gentle enough to use twice-daily.

teen skin products

For teens looking for an all-in-one skincare solution, I think that this Anti-Blemish system is going to be a winner. Affordable, easy to use and – most importantly – easy to understand! There’s no faffing about with pre-this and post-that, just wash your face, wipe over with the toner and finish with the Duo. It’s equally as appealing to women in their twenties, thirties and older who might be suffering with outbreaks of acne, though if your skin does tend to have dry areas you will want to use the Effaclar Duo+ in targeted areas rather than all over, and use a moisturiser on top.

The 3-Step Anti-Blemish System is going to be available from September priced at £29.50, but I have five sets that need to be tested pre-launch so that I can write an in-depth review. I’m looking for five testers, all of whom suffer from breakouts or acne, whether teen or adult. Testers must be willing to give me their honest feedback on the products and to (if possible) use only the 3-Step kit for about four weeks. (Obviously they must add an SPF for the daytime if they are going to be out and about!)

Fancy a try? Leave a comment below before noon on Saturday and I’ll announce the testers in the Sunday Tittle Tattle. You can read more about Effaclar Duo here, or if you want to try the treatment part on its own, it’s currently on offer at Escentual.com here for £12.39.

*Excuse the random-looking photos; I’ve been in a studio all week and didn’t have time to shoot pictures at home, so I went early one morning and took them on set! Most random one below…

I’d love to try this, I’ve used effeclar duo + a while ago and found it really helped my acne prone combination teenage skin, this trio sounds amazing!!

I’d love to give them a test. I suffered from acne as a teenager, and my skin has since improved a lot, but I have problems with shine and breakouts, which are hard to deal with since my skin is very sensitive.

Hi Ruth! I’d really like to be a part of this. I’m going through a terrible time with my skin at the moment and nothing I use is fixing it.

I would like to test it out!

Hi Ruth! I am interested in testing the 3 step system as I too suffer from acne, and having not tried la Roche posay before I would love to see if these products can work for me! Many thanks amy x

I would love to test this out, I get outbreaks constantly, and most recently little painful cysts under my skin (cheeks and forehead). It’s a nightmare.

Sounds great! I get bouts of breakouts, which I never experienced as a teenager and really like the old Effaclar Duo moisturiser but have never tried the other products and would love to!

I am really interested in being your guinea pig! I am 21 and have had problems with acne around my mouth for several years and I’m desparate to give anything a go! I also have quite sensitive skin so I’m intrigued to see if this will do the job!

  9. July 24, 2014 / 12:09 pm

I don’t personally suffer from acne but my 16 year old cousin does and he would be interested in trying it. May be interesting to get a male view on it also?

This chance honestly couldn’t have come at a better time for me! Having made it through my teens with an enviably clear completion it seems that my skin has decided to revolt at the grand old age of 21.
I feel like I’m just chucking money left and right at my face trying to get the situation undercontrol and nothing seems to be doing the trick! I would love the opportunity to put these products to the test and hopefully gain a bit more confidence (and a lot more spare time by ditching the long concealer regime!)
    Thanks

Would love to try this. particularly the toner

  12. July 24, 2014 / 12:11 pm

Oooooo I reckon my man would love to try this, he suffers from fairly regular breakouts/blemishes and general red marks on his face and he noticed a massive improvement using the effaclar as a serum stage so a whole range would no doubt clear him completely!

    What a great idea.

Hi Ruth, I’m 40-ish and by the luck of the Gods have always suffered from acne. Nothing mind-blowing, but just enough that I’ve never been able to feel like my skin looks great. Not to mention the stress and hormone triggered lovelies that happen to pop up now and again, yay me! I do live in the US so I’m not sure if I am eligible to participate, hope so!

This sounds fantastic and I am particularly excited about the toner, hopefully they release it on it’s own as well!! I’m still suffering from spots at 26 and already use the Effaclar Duo + to try and keep them under control, so this kit would be absolutely perfect! x

I’d love for my (adult) daughter to try this out – she’s struggling with acne scarring at the moment and it’s getting her down as the texture of her skin isn’t foundation friendly. This toner sounds like it would be a godsend for that.

Oooo, I’d love to be a tester! I am 35 tomorrow (urgh) and have hormonal skin. I get angry red spots as well as blackheads (am I painting a lovely picture). My second son is 16 weeks old so my hormones and hot weather are making my skin particularly troublesome!

I would love to give this whole system a try. I have suffered from a bit of a spotty face for going on 15 years now. I’ve never had terrible acne but I’ve also never had a clear face. Others might think that it’s isn’t enough to worry about but it has an effect on my self confidence everyday.

So please consider me a very willing guinea pig!

    Another Ruth x

Hi Ruth, I would love to test these products out! I’m 18 and have suffered with moderate acne in the past, and still suffer with uneven skin, bumps etc and also acne scarring. I would love to try these products to see the effect on acne scarring and smoothing out the skin. The toner also sounds amazing, as I have skin on the drier side, so alcohol makes my skin feel too tight, which is why I tend to avoid toners. Love Love Love your blog and have a great week!:)

I would love to try this set. My skin is having a bit of a freak out at the moment and I seem to be getting lots if acne on my chin. My skin has not been clear for over a month now so I would love to have the opportunity to try this to see if it helps.

I would love to try this! I suffer from breakouts big-time, usually hormonal but hard to clear them. My skin is tempermental at the best of times so coaxing it to behave a little better would be a real test!

Holy bejeezus, I need this on my face.

I’m in my mid 20’s and have had fairly clear skin for the last 5 years, I did suffer from breakouts during my teens, and still have oily (but dehydrated) skin, but these last few months have been TERRIBLE. I’ve had the most horrific hormonal breakouts along my jaw and chin area, I’ve tried EVERYTHING to keep it at bay, but as soon as I get one spot to start clearing up, another one appears. I’m a regular reader of AMR and of Lady Hirons, but despite doing everything that’s recommended, I’m still getting this nasties. I’d love to put Effaclar to the test.

Hi Ruth, I’d be really interested to try this set. I’m 24 and have had outbreaks of acne since I was about 16. I’m currently suffering especially with cystic spots under the skin, would be amazing if this was a solution that finally worked. Katie xx

I absolutely adore the Effaclar duo, and the inclusion of the toner with zinc has me super excited! Suffered from breakouts for 8 years, Effaclar has been one of the only skincare products to make a difference. Excited for this launch!!

Hi Ruth my name is nicole I am in my teens 17 going on the 18. I do have acne it is cystic and not nice at all. I HAVE tried alias or regimens for my skin most things just made it worse and unbearable. I havnt yet tried la Roche today brand. Would Be a great tester to try this out as I am not using anything for my skin as I just gave up a little. But if you did pick Mr to test thus I would stick to it as I HAVE yet to find something that works for me. I would love to try it out thanks.

I would love to trial these products. I’m 23 with pretty oily/ acne prone skin. Both the effaclar duo and new reformulated effaclar plus have been very effective for me. I’m now on my 3rd tube but haven’t tried anything else from the effaclar range.

I would love to try this set out as I have been getting blemishes and spots for the past 4 or 5 years and although I have never suffered terrible acne it still gets me down seeing everyone with lovely make up free skin whilst I have to use concealer everyday to get my confidence up. I have combination skin (like most people!) but because it is summer it has turned very oily. I also have blackheads on my nose and chin which I can’t seem to get rid of and have only seemed to get worse recently! It would be amazing to try out this set as although it isn’t hugely expensive it is still a little splurge as I don’t really have any consistent income considering my age! I would be intrigued to see if this works as nothing I have tried before has. :)

I’d love to try this! The toner sounds especially amazing. Perfect to help clear up hot summer skin.

  46. July 24, 2014 / 12:56 pm

This looks amazing! I’m a massive fan of the Effaclar Duo, as it’s the only thing I’ve used that clears up my skin so quickly and efficiently. I’ve suffered with angry acne since the age of 12 and while I’m almost 23 and my skin has grown out of it a lot, I’m very prone. My complexion tends to get very oily in the hotter months (like right now in England) and I get spotty when stressed, ‘that time of the month’ and I’m also intolerable to a lot of products, yet Effaclar Duo does wonders at clearing up pimples and redness over a matter of days. I even introduced it to my Mom and a few friends. I’m really intrigued to give the whole system a go!

    Hey Ruth
I would love to give this a whirl. Never tried anything from this skincare range but have tried many things over the years. Suffered from acne since I was 15 and now at nearly 26 (in 3 weeks so this would be a nice early bday present :)) I am ready to kick it good and proper.
Would be excited to see how it fairs with slightly oily skin and also slightly sensitive skin!
    Thanks!

I’d love to be a tester. I suffer from varying degrees of breakouts, from the odd pimple to horrific breakouts (think that by 30 I would have ‘grown out’ of it!). I’ve used the old version of effeclar duo but haven’t had a chance to try out the new one or the other products in the range.

Hi Ruth. I suffered from acne when I was a teenager. I used to have spots, pimps and acne breakouts on my nose, forehead and cheeks. Reaching 25 (26 in September!), I still have breakouts every now and then. The skin problems I have now includes: cheek (large pores, clogs, spots, redness, acne scars); nose (large pores, clogs, spots). I have shines in T zone but normal/dry skin on other areas on my face.Would love to try on these products!

As an almost 47 year old who STILL gets regular breakouts I would love to give this a try. Not sure if it’s the hot and sweaty weather at the moment but in the last week I’ve had spots on my neck (eww) and woke up this morning with a crop of spots on my face. We all want to look younger than we are but the spotty teenager look is not the ideal I was hoping for!!

  58. July 24, 2014 / 1:32 pm

Ruth, I would love to be a tester for this three step kit! I am 20 years old and surrer from hormonal brakeouts – I currently use the DUO[+] serum and it is my saviour! It completely clears my skin and is something I can’t be without – I recently ran out and during the interrim of repurchsing it my skin instantly went back to itsnormal self, conjested with frequent blemishes. Would love to be a tester for this kit!

Hi Ruth. I would love to be able to try this please. I have had acne now for over a year out of nowhere. I’ve tried dozens of different products and nothing has made a difference. All I’m doing is wasting my money and with I one year old I can’t keep spending in the hope it’ll clear up. Thanks, Rachel x

  64. Lauren
    July 24, 2014 / 1:43 pm

I’d LOVE to be considered as a tester, please! I have combination skin and suffered with pretty horrible acne as a teenager/in my early twenties. It’s gradually improved over the years but I still have nasty breakouts, particularly following the birth of my baby last year. I’m curtly using La Roche-Posay’s Toleriane cleanser, which is brilliant, but I’ve heard a lot about the Effaclar range and would love to give it a go.

  65. July 24, 2014 / 1:47 pm

Love to try. I am 36-year old mother of two, and still got blemishes. Which is annoying, when you try to have everything done in seconds on a school/work day. Not mentioning the self awareness and self consciousness. They seem to be hurt by that, too.
Anyway, it’s quite weird. What used to be almost 100% limited to hyper-hormonised teenage years when I was a teenager myself (and, ironically, had very little skin problems), is a common problem nowadays, for people of all ages. Civilisation, I guess.

Hi Ruth, I’ve suffered with hormonal spots since the age of 14 and after trying gazillions of products to tame my oily/breakout prone skin at the ripe old age of 39 I’m still searching for the right skincare routine. I follow your blog religiously and upon your recommendation I have been using effeclar duo+ for a few months now with great results. However my skin is still not completely smooth and clear – still some congestion around my chin and nose and horrid dark marks from old spots. I’ve tried various acid toners, serums, oils etc but find my skin can get overloaded and more congested if I layer too many products. Maybe the effeclar 3 step system will work for me? I’d certainly like to give it a try – I’m never giving up the fight for beautiful skin!

  67. Brii
    July 24, 2014 / 1:52 pm

Hi, I am currently 18 (19 in October) and have had breakouts/acne since I was about 13 but I’ve pretty much had oily skin since I was 10. It also doesn’t help that I sweat easily and have large pores on my forehead, nose, parts of my cheeks and chin. My breakouts have calmed down a lot since I started a stable skincare routine, recommended by bloggers such as yourself, but I still get horrifically painful red spots all across my chin and sides of my mouth, the scarring is a huge issue too. The other day I got a couple spots on my neck and under my chest, never had spots there before! Effaclar duo has been a staple in my routine since I first found out about it in the old formula, in the kit I am mostly interested in the toner as it sounds like exactly what I need, my cheeks used to be somewhat oilier than they are now (more normal currently) but I still get spots on them from time to time. My forehead is almost always oily, no matter what I do and my chin has always got angry red spots on it, I would love to test it!

    July 24, 2014 / 1:52 pm

Hey Ruth! Definitely going to register for the wait list, but would simply love to be a tester for you! I’ve used Effaclar Duo and currently use the Duo+, as well as a few other LRP products – I’m in love! It would be great to see what impact this new kit has as a trio in comparison to my current routine. I get breakouts mainly on my forehead and chin, and also get quite a few of those annoying flesh coloured spots that never come to a head / blocked pores that NEED (NEED!) extracting. Have definitely seen improvement since I started using LRP but not 100%, so wonder whether this kit could be the final attack-from-all-corners solution to my skin woes?!

  69. July 24, 2014 / 1:54 pm

Ruth i would love to be a tester!! I’m a 20 student nurse with a huge makeup addiction, only problem is; I have acne/blemish prone skin so I find it really hard for makeup too look great!! Also during the summer months I don’t want to be slapping on pounds of concealer and foundation everyday. I am one of those unfortunate girls who don’t just get spots… I grow mountains! The bain of my life! I’d love to be able to have clearer skin so I can have more confidence within myself without makeup, enjoy summer without 10lbs of cover up and who knows maybe bare my shifts on the children’s wards without any foundation in the future!!

I would love to try these! I’ve used the normal effaclar duo but found that it didn’t help me too much! My skin is getting a lot clearer but is still blemish prone so I’d love to try it out :)

Hi Ruth, I have been reading a lot of about the line and having reactive sensitive skin it hasn’t been easy to find products that treat the breakouts without irritating and drying out the skin, especially around the cheeks. With that in mind and coming across your post I would love to try them out.
    Many thanks, Anya

I already use Duo and love it, but haven’t used the cleanser or (obviously) the toner, I would love to be considered as a tester as someone with adult cystic acne, hopefully this trio will be a winner.

    Hi Ruth

Id love to be considered for this, after always having clear skin through out my teens and twenties, things have taken a very different path now in my thirties …. like getting older isn’t bad enough!!

I Fancy a try for everything La Roche Posay, though I must admit having more success with Effaclar K than with Effaclar Duo. The cleanser is great. Those products really help my skin.

Hiya! I would love to try these products… I’m 33, and after suffering from mild acne as a teenager my sin has been very well behaved, until a few years ago. I have always had fairly oily skin, but I now get regular breakouts around my chin area and am never spot free (currently battling one on the side of my nose actually). I’ve been on a mission since I saw the change in my skin to find something to calm it. I’ve tried clay cleansers, cream cleansers, masks, exfoliation, toners, treatment gels, etc, etc. Some have been better than others, but I’m still looking for something to write home about… Cue the new Effaclar Anti-blemish system maybe!?

Hi Ruth, I would be grateful if you would consider me to be a tester. At 37 I thought my skin problems were long gone but have now developed adult acne. Everything I have tried so far hasn’t worked, maybe this would (as it did for you :-) ) I would love to give it a try. Thanks x

    Hi Ruth,
I’m 15 and have combination skin which tends to get more oily in the summer months. I get breakouts frequently and have done since I was 12. As you can imagine, my skin is blemished from past spots and I would love for something to clean up my complexion. Using only these products would be no problem and I would love to try out the cleanser and toner, having only tried Effaclar Duo + in the past from the range which I loved! :)

My acne is currently quite calm, but still not completely gone, and I doubt it’s going to go away on its own, so trying this out would be wonderful. I have tried out the Duo ages ago and I remember it working wonders for my skin! :)

I’ve had hormonal acne on my chin for almost as long as I can remember. I’ve tried everything over the years. Some things I think might have helped slightly but since my teens I don’t think I’ve had a completely clear skin day. I would love to be considered as a tester for this as I’ve heard so much about it but not yet tried it! X

I would LOVE to have the chance to test these products for you. I’ve been using effeclar duo for years now, and its been a god send. Honestly, I turn into a giant spot if I go without it for a few days. I have oily blemish prone skin, and at the age of 23, its getting a bit embarrassing. I am still struggling to find a skin care system that leaves me blemish free (or as close as) and would love to give the effeclar rage a go before the masses! I’m totally happy not use any other products for a month. x

Hey Ruth love your youtube and blog. I’d love to try this as the last couple of years i’ve been having constant small breakouts that nothing seems to cure. I don’t even have oily skin its quite dry actually. I never had spots as a teenager but getting them now in adult life typical!

I would love to be one of the first to test out this new kit! La Roche has helped my skin so much over the past few months and I would love to try a combo of the above 3 products for even further results!!

    Hi Ruth!
I’d really love to be one of the testers for this La Roche Posay Effaclar set. I’m a 15 year old boy and I do get spots regularly. When I get then, they usually come in small clusters on my face, and my usual Clearasil just doesn’t do the job for me!! My skin is also a tad sensitive so I would be able to recommend whether this is good for young, sensitive skins too. I’d be able to give an honest, unbiased opinion from a teenage boy, which is rare as many boys don’t like skincare.

  87. Charlotte Pharoah
    July 24, 2014 / 2:40 pm

I’d love to test them! I’m 15 with pretty untameable skin, that’s sensitive and oily and no two products seem to be aimed at this combination. It’s a nightmare! Sensitive products don’t help with blemishes and oily skin products burn! These sound great, would love to give them a go!

  88. July 24, 2014 / 2:55 pm

This is such an amazing opportunity for anybody who suffers with bad breakouts/acne, I’ve been using La Roche-Posay products for about a year now and do notice a significant improvement in my skin afterwards! It’d be great to try this set out when I need an emergency skin saviour :)

I would love to try this out! I am very religious when it comes to skin care. I have a set routine and I stick with it. I think I would be a great tester for this system of products. I also use the Duo which really helps target pesty spots.

YES YES YES YES YES I would LOVE to try this! I’ll test away faithfully and record my progress honestly, pinky promise. I never used to have any skin issues yet the older I get, the worse it becomes. Let’s help each other!

  91. July 24, 2014 / 3:07 pm

    Hi,
I’m 17 and still get spots and scarring, which is always worse at that time of the month! I use the effaclar duo + and it is great at calming my skin, but i would love to try the cleanser and toner too. I don’t think i’ve ever had a day without some sort of blemish so trying these products would be a good opportunity.

Hi ruth! I’d love to test this because i’ve tried everything and i’m so tired of caking on foundation and concealer every few hours just to look presentable. I need some relief!

  94. July 24, 2014 / 3:12 pm

I’d love to be a tester for this new system, I suffer with breakouts frequently and my skin is both oily and eczema-prone so it can be a really struggle to find products that work. I’m a big fan of Effaclar Duo+ and so I’m extremely interested in these products.

Thank you for featuring this Ruth – it’s so hard to find decent products for acne-prone adult skin and I truly hope that Effaclar has cracked it! I’ve struggled so much with my skin since falling very ill 4 years ago and would love to find a longer term solution – being an adult with acne is such a nightmare!

  98. July 24, 2014 / 3:33 pm

I would love to test this set out. I have used the effaclar duo in the past (thanks to your recommendation!) and it really helped with my breakout of spots that came from no where. This set could be just the thing to sort my skin out again in time for my 30th birthday…no one wants to enter their 30s with a chin full of painful spots :( fingers crossed. Ps love this blog!!

    Hi Ruth,
I would absolutely adore testing these products for you. I’ve been hit with a pretty horrendous dose of acne since coming off the pill in December. I’m 35 and haven’t had a breakout since I was a teen so whilst taking me back to my youth, it’s also causing me stress! I’ve tried about a million (slight exaggeration here I know, but I feel it’s necessary) different products but to no avail. In closing, I reckon I could be a good candidate for your testing panel!

Hi Ruth. I would really like to test these as Im 28 years old and constantly fighting with a very blemish prone and oily skin all. I already have the Effaclar Duo + and I love it, but I havent yet found a cleanser and toner that works equally well. This might do the trick.

Would love to try these products! The toner sounds amazing. Love your blog x

  104. July 24, 2014 / 4:02 pm

I’d love to be a tester! At 28, I’m still struggling with acne and blemish-prone skin (less than ideal) and I’ve used the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo in the past with good results!

  105. July 24, 2014 / 4:12 pm

I’d love to try out the testers! My skin broke out suddenly a few years ago to Stage 2 acne and it really got me down and I was having to used medication to control it. After a long slog of products that aggravated my skin and still produced blemishes, I finally tried La Roche Posay Effaclar DUO+ and since then my skin has improved dramatically. No more deep spots, no more yellowheads or whiteheads, it’s easier to steam and use face masks to help detox my skin alongside the product and it’s been one of my only repurchased products. I’ve introduced it to my mum too to help with her bouts and it’s really helped our skin type. This range has helped sooth and solve so many of my skin irritations and made me feel normal and back to how I was before, so to try the new range and see even more improvement from a tailored brand would be awesome !

Ruth I would absolutely love to test this out! I’m 25 and suffer frequent bouts of spots on my chin and cheeks, along with scarring and redness from my teenage skin that has never quite disappeared. I’ll admit I’ve used the Effaclar Duo before but I’m interested to see how it works with the other products. I also work in a school and am on holiday at the moment, going back in a few weeks, so could see how it affects my skin in different environments. :)

  107. July 24, 2014 / 4:18 pm

    lovely Ruth,
would love to try this set out. I’m nearly 30 and I can’t stand the fact that my skin is still like the skin of a 13 year old.
    xoxo from Germany.

  108. July 24, 2014 / 4:22 pm

I’d love to be a tester! My regular routine (consisting of the Liz Earle cleanser and toner, Effaclar Duo, and Nivea SPF) haven’t been working as efficiently as they used to. I want to take advantage of the summer holidays and work on my skin to get it in good condition, ready for school, because from what I hear, Year 13 is stressful enough without adding acne to the mix! Please consider me, Ruth :)

    • July 24, 2014 / 4:26 pm

PS. I’m a very blunt and honest person, so there’ll be no problems on that front :) And I’m absolutely fine with not using any other products (bar SPF, of course).

Hi Ruth, please put my name in the hat for this! My 16 year old daughter has been dealing with acne for about 3 years. Initially our GP prescribed Duac and antibiotics, but I felt the Duac was too harsh for her young skin, and didn’t want her on antibiotics for months on end (albeit a mild dose). Through trial and error we came up with a routine to keep it under control, though she still has hormonal breakouts. It’s good to mix it up a bit though and let her try different stuff!

    Hello,

I’m rather spectical about any product that promises acne free skin…..even though I wanna believe them ever so much. Being an active 21 yr old – and by active I mean I’m constantly under the full beam of the sun – I can’t voucher for flawless skin. I have acne in a mild form, I suppose, however it doesn’t limit itself to particular areas. It’s all over the place! My curiosity would most certainly want to give Effeclar Duo + a go. And given this fabulous opportunity I can’t think why I shouldn’t feed my curious mind.

    Iram, England.

Hi Ruth, I’d love to be a volunteer. I breakout quite frequently and the only product that seemed to help me with spots was the Effeclar Duo+ which I now use everyday. Recently, I’ve found the effects of it to be less than they were before as the product used to dramatically help my skin. I’d absoloutely LOVE to try these products and would be so grateful if I had the opportunity as I really do think they would help sort out my skin due to having such a great initial reaction to the Effaclar duo+ and my I’m now getting spots on a daily basis, pleeease pick me!!

  119. July 24, 2014 / 5:07 pm

Hey, I would love to test this out. I have just recently started using Effaclar Duo and I think my skin is beginning to respond to it. I normally have pretty clear skin but over the last couple of months me and my skin have really fallen out and I am breaking out far too much for my liking! Effaclar Duo is beginning to help but I would love to test this out and see if this could also give my skin a little helping hand!

I’d really love to test this out. I’m 23 and have always had bad skin but suddenly my skin now seems to have breakouts every other week – worse than my 14 year old acne self. Not sure it’s because I’m working in London now or adult acne. Need a solution!

    Hi Ruth,
On your recommendation (thank goodness I found it) I have been having great success with Effeclar Duo + and have recently also purchased the cleanser. However, I have been experiencing unprecedented levels of facial shine (seriously, I’m considering calling in BP to clean up my forehead slick). The addition of the toner could, in theory, see it off once and for all so I’d love to be a tester!

I use Effaclar Duo+ everyday and have never found it drying so far. It helps keep my skin less bumpy than it normally is and I love the consistency of it, so light and sinks straight into the skin. On days when I want a little bit more, I go over it with the Effaclar K multi-compensating soothing moisturiser, which is a brilliant moisturiser especially at the price. I have bought both on your recommendations Ruth. I hope I get picked for the trial, would love to try the toner.

Hi Ruth! I’m 17 and suffer from constant breakouts on my face that I just can’t seem to stop! I’ve tried both Effaclar Duo and Effaclar Duo+ in the past but not actually found them to make much difference to my skin, so I would be really interested to see if using the whole range together would help. I have tried so many skincare products in an attempt to sort out my skin, and although some have helped, nothing has completely cleared the breakouts so I would love to see if this does!

My skin type is combination & it’s really playing up lately. I have these under-the-skin spots & they leave marks/scars for months later. Hi Ruth,
Thanks for this opportunity, I think it’s great you’re willing to bring your readers into this mix on this one!
I’m 35 and suffered with acne since my teens. I have LOTS of hyperpigmentation and prone to cystic acne all around my face and neck. I have used Duo+ but usually stick to more natural tee tree oil to target the blighters! Sometimes I manage ok with my acne, sometimes I have really dark phases where it’s difficult to manage daily. To try this would give me a purpose and make me feel I was helping ALL fellow sufferers, sometimes it feels there is just me that’s like this.

    Hello! I’m a 19 year-old University student in Florida.
I would love to take on this project and be a part of your network of satellite reviewers.

I have experienced persistent breakouts (nothing too deep or dramatic but still annoying) and subsequent redness since I was about 13. I have splashed out and purchased some La Roche Posay Mela D Serum which makes my skin look dreamy, so I’m confident this set will deliver. The only question is, will you deliver… to the US, that is. ;)

    Thanks,
    Rachel

I’ve always suffered from really acne prone skin and have been on two courses of accutane. The treatment courses really helped and I had a long period of, in my eyes, ‘good’ skin. However last Christmas I had a period of being ill and stressed and my skin really suffered. After this lull period I seemed to have stumbled into a bout of adult acne- this has been different from my teenage-case with the acne being more situated on my neck/jaw-line and cheeks opposed to forehead and nose.
I find it so embarrassing and sometimes decline social events because I’m so ashamed of my appearance.
Upon fanatically searching the internet (after the doctor fobbed me off with antibiotics) I came across your video talking about Effaclar and immediately bought it online. It’s been such a big help to me and helped increase my confident so much.
I would honestly just like to thank you for making me aware of the product and the brand, I would be honoured if you could pick me to test this product.
Again, thank you so much Ruth.

Hi Ruth, I think I would be an ideal tester for the effaclar duo + range.
I have tried many ranges over the years both expensive and budget to try to find my skin saviour…. And the search continues!
As a busy mum of one and a full time nurse a quick and efficient skin care regime is vital for me.
I need effective products with the least ‘faff’ possible.
I am passionate about skin care and would love to be able to use make up to enhance my skin rather than mask it. Hopefully effaclar duo + range may allow this to be a reality! X

    Hi Ruth,
I would love to be one of the testers as my acne seems unshiftable without drying my skin out to high heaven! I’m 21 and having just finished university I think it’s time my acne packed its bags and left for good. My skin is relatively sensitive so it does get dry and sore patches when I use regular “hardcore” spot treatments but generally my skin is really quite congested, especially throughout my T-zone, and tends to suffer from painful spots that lurk under the skin refusing to budge as well as marks and scars from previous breakouts. I’m already a lover of the Effaclar Duo (and the new formulation) but I’d be really interested to see if using the whole routine exclusively could clear up my stubborn acne once and for all so I can stop shovelling so much make-up on in a morning. Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for a chance to try this kit out and help you to build a really thorough review!
    Thanks for the opportunity!

Hi! I would love to try this out. Having battled against acne for all of my adult life (I’m now 40) I’m willing to give anything a go! Even after 2 courses of roaccutane, the little blighters keep on coming back! Earlier this year, on your recommendation, I tried the effaclar duo and now I can’t live without it. Although far from perfect, my skin has improved slightly so I would be keen to try out the other products. Fingers crossed! PS. If I don’t get picked, could you please send me Ms Hirons to sort my skin out! :-)

    Hello Ruth-

I am 26 years old and deal with hormonal acne (just breakouts on the cheeks, chin/mouth area and the occassional ONE on the nose, eek!) that just won’t quit. I have combination (dry patches on the forehead, sides of nose and sometimes around the chin, oily elsewhere)/sensitive/acne-prone skin; its frustrating to find something to help get rid of it! I have been using a few products from boscia that have calmed it down but, not get rid of it completely…and thats something I have been on the hunt for a while now. I do live in the US though so, I don’t know if you will be accepting testers from the US but I thought I’d give it a go anyway. I love the La Roche-Posay line, only have a few products but their Anthelios line works great on my skin! Best of luck to those who get chosen & hope it works!

I would love to try this anti-blemish system because I have always struggled with my skin, I am prone to breakouts, blackheads and have oily skin. So far I have not found products which really suit my skin and help clear my skin.

    Hi Ruth,

A 28 year old who is only without spots for about one week every two months. Tried many many things with my products and routine but i nearly always have them along my jaw line accompanied by red, dry scars. I have been using effaclar duo for a couple of months and not sure about it to be honest…doesn’t seem to make them worse but isn’t making them disappear either. A whole complementary routine, however, may be the ticket. I have those tiny, tiny, tiny little white bumps on my chin. Oily T, to boot!

Someone who can give a realistic view as to whether the new components amplify the effectiveness of the duo

I would love to be able to try this new system. I suffer with bad blackheads and enlarged pores on my nose and cheeks with hormonal breakouts. I have normal to dry skin even though my nose gets super oily. I am willing to try anything to reduce my blackheads/oiliness x

Hi Ruth. I’d love to be a tester of this kit. I’m nearly 30, with hormonal acne that stresses me out! Being in South Africa, it’s difficult to find most of the products I read about in most US or UK blogs. It’d be great to try out something that seems to have worked well for so many people. Could do before and after pics!

    Hello Caroline! I’m Ali,
I’m 24 years old. I have been obsessed with skincare since I first got acne at around 14. It has never really stopped but the flare ups are perhaps a bit more predictable now. I still have acne scars along my cheeks and chin that I would like to minimise, particularly as these can get inflamed! I’ve tried loads of different moisturisers and cleansers and haven’t yet found the one!

P.s Ruth so sorry! Thought I was on Caroline Hirons for a moment there!

  151. July 24, 2014 / 8:12 pm

Hi Ruth, love you blog, read it religiously!

I would love to try to new effaclar system. I’ve changed up my skin care routine a lot since ready your and Caroline’s blogs. The effaclar duo has helped a little with my adult acne, but at 28 I’m wondering if I should go a see a dermatologist ( although getting an appointment with Sam bunting is proving tough!). I would love to try this system to see if it helps and will be first in line when it come out!!

  152. July 24, 2014 / 8:17 pm

    Hi A Model Recommends,

I would absolutely love to tryt his system. I’ve been using the duo for years and it is absolutely the best acne treatment product ever!

    Ruth,
I’ve recently discovered you and your fabulous YouTube and website, I truly thank you for all of your skin care tips etc.
Being a 21 year old male I’ve suffered with face acne since I hit puberty. I still have days where my acne is better than other days, but overall it has improved quite a bit. This is because I’ve totally cut down on liquid forms of dairy and by changing my diet.
Therefore I’m quite interested in testing this new effeclar duo product. Thanks for reading.

Hi Ruth, I would love to try this out. I’m 21 with dry/normal skin. My cheeks and chin are where I get the worst breakout. Lots of under the skin spots that WILL NOT go away no matter what I try. Occasionally I’ll get big red ones (got a few just now *sigh*) This trio sounds like just the thing for me!

Very excited for this to be launched and the opportunity to try it before September would be great! I’ve always had acne prone skin and still haven’t grown out of it at the age of 22!

  167. July 24, 2014 / 9:33 pm

I am suffering so badly with my skin at the moment so I would love to try this! I have typical teenage combination skin and it gets extremely oily in the hot weather which causes me to break out even more than usual and its really bothering me. I am desperate to try something that is going to work as I haven’t found anything yet and I would love to give this a go and write about it! :)

  168. July 24, 2014 / 9:36 pm

I would love to test out the set, I’ve never had problems with my skin until 2 months ago when my cheeks became covered in painful acne, I’ve tried to treat it with kindness just stripping back to cream cleansers and aloe cream but it’s still not clearing up, hopefully this set would help as being 18 and wanting to go out is ruined by how insecure my skin is making me feel. Thank you if you choose me, if not good luck to whoever else is struggling with the same issues

  169. July 24, 2014 / 9:37 pm

This set sounds exactly like what my skin needs! No matter what I try, I can never seem to keep the blemishes away for long and I’m close to giving up. Hi Ruth! I think I would be a good candidate for the Effaclar products. I’m a teen living in Canada, and I suffer with really bad acne. I’ve tried so many acne products, some okay, and some terrible, but none that work wonders for my spotty skin. I’ve never tried La Roche Posay before and I would really like to at some point. I’d really like to check out this set of products and see if they work for my skin!

    Hey ruth,
I’m 21 and have been itching to try out the duo treatment but hadn’t got round to it yet. My skin is quite oily and congested with a few random spots appearing each week. My skin is really sensitive and other oily skin toners have left it dry and irritated, so I’d be really interested to test out the sensitive skin claims this product makes!

  173. July 24, 2014 / 10:12 pm

Hi, I’d love to give the whole system a go. I’m 25 and still seem to be battling with adult acne and congestion. I’ve been using the effaclar duo+ on an off for a while now, whilst also chopping and changing face washes, treatments and moisturisers in an attempt to find something that works. Trying this old would enable me to solely try out one system and fully stick to it which hopefully will make a difference to my skin.

    HI,

My 16 year old daughter would love to try this. It seems simple enough even for her, I don’t understand how an honor student can’t figure out skin care. She wants to teach English after college so she is an excellent writer. She could test it in the mid-west humidity and very dry air conditioning.

Hi Ruth, thank you for this amazing opportunity. I would love to become one of the testers! I’m 25 and suffering from hormonal breakouts with a few dark spots on my face due to past acne. Hi, I would love to try this three step routine, I am already a huge fan of the brand and have found it has helped my breakouts. Hi Ruth, I moved to Australia from the UK 2 years ago and have noticed a dramatic change in my skin. I think probably due to the humidity/air con and sun damage generally I have many more skin complaints, especially recently lots of blackheads and breakouts, despite bein 28 and having had clear skin for many years! I’m currently 8months away from getting married and would love to find a solution so if I’m eligible to be a long distance tester I’m willing and able and would look forward to writing for you!

Hi Ruth, I’m currently using Effaclar Duo+ every day as part of my daily routine having relied on it relentlessly whilst battling my problematic skin – a problem I never thought I’d have at the age of 31 especially as my skin as a teenager was pretty good. I’d love to use the 3 step system and see whether I could nip this bout of bad skin in the bud (or at least get it under control for big events like my wedding!). Many thanks, Julie

I’m 35 and can’t seem to shake my acne for good. I tried the Duo after you recommended it and have had good results, though the occasional breakout is still bothersome — I usually have one zit on the go at all times. My skin is dry, sensitive, prone to redness and the add the breakouts on top of that, and it takes forever for red marks to fade.

I haven’t tried the Duo+ and don’t quite know what’s different from the regular duo. I’m interested in giving the toner and cleanser a go and am quite confident I could be pretty objective about testing the whole system out. I’d definitely need a moisturizer on top, though.

Hi Ruth, I’m in my early 40’s and suffer from acne scarring from my teens as well as still suffering from outbreaks. I would love to test out this kit and see if it would help clear my skin… I would say my skin has been the biggest cause of any insecurities I have had for over 30 years. I hate seeing my face without makeup on (sad but true)and I have to apply my makeup with the curtains shut and the light on as natural light just highlights my skin even more … once complete I will then check my makeup in nbtural light to make sure it looks ok xxx

  201. July 25, 2014 / 6:30 am

I’d love to be a tester :) I have normal to slightly oily skin, pretty hardy and not too sensitive so I like trying out new products. I’d love to be considered for his trial, not for me actually but for my daughter, she is 12, nearly 13 and has started to get some spots and her skin is quite congested, I think these products would be ideal for her, as I like the idea of using a bit more of a gentle product on her young skin rather than the traditional harsher acne treatments.

Hi Ruth, I have battled with adult acne since having children but have it sort of under control with antibiotics, I would love for my 16 year old son to try this system as he has started with teenage acne and keeps pestering me to take him to the doctors as he knows that the tablets work for me, if it meant he didn’t have to take tablets every day I would be delighted.
    Thank you for this opportunity.

    Hi girl!
I would love to try this set.
I have extremely oily skin and I get breakouts vety often. Theres almost a new pimple on my face every morning. It’s mot as bad as it was earlier this year when I had extremely bad hormonal acne. But it is a lot worse than what it was a year ago. I obviously have somekind of hormonal thing still going strong.
    BTW im 28.
Could this set be my answer??

I’d love for my sister to be able to try this. She’s tried most things for her skin and the only thing that ever temporarily cleared it was antibiotics, for obvious reasons we’re against her going back on them even though her confidence and self worth were through the roof when she had the few weeks of clear skin as it just didn’t last and it just upset her poor stomach. She’s 17 and off to college in September and even though I know I’d be buying this for her when it came out, it’d be amazing for her to try it in advance and see if she can get even a smidge of that confidence back in time for college!

This sounds like it would be perfect for me! I have suffered with extremely oily skin for almost eight years now, and I’ve had spots for that amount of time too. All my blemishes leave dark marks and scars. Thank you for offering to give us a try, this couldn’t have come at better time for me. I’m turning 21 soon and I’m so tired of having bad skin, I desperately need something to help me. I’m new to the French pharmacy skincare, I’ve just started using the Roche Posay Rosaliac UV Legere moisturiser which is great for redness, but not so much for my oily skin. I’d really love to try some more options as I feel like I’ve wasted so much money on skincare that doesn’t work. I’m truly longing for a good skin day, sadly.

Hi Ruth – I’d seriously love to try this out! As a broke journalist who’s been suffering from moderate acne and confused skin for the best part of 10 years, I know a thing or two about skincare regimes for the less-than-minted. My Inner Hirons is giving the foaming cleanser the evil eye, but if it works, it works!

I am currently 6 months pregnant and I would like this out. I have never suffered from breakouts before and yet for the last 4 months my skin has been horrid, spots, red marks, more dry patches than you can shake a stick at… I was slightly excited just reading your post, I would have bought it, but I am due in October, so I suspect a September launch might be a bit late for me…

Hi, I’d love to test this kit out! I’ve had sensitive skin for years that seems to be neither oily not dry but I’m always getting clogged pores and spots, even when I don’t have a big red spot I never have smooth skin and it’s always got little marks from where I’ve had spots! I’m just starting off modelling and my skin has to be looking it’s best so it would be amazing if this would work for me! I used to have the effaclar but lost i but it did helps loads so I would love to try the trio!

    Hi Ruth,

I was the grand old age of 8 when I first got my gift from the acne fairy which lasted 10 years leaving my face looking like “the crater of Mars”- as a male friend so kindly broadcast to my new boyfriend quite recently!! Now in my mid 20’s and after countless high grade antibiotics and vials of tea tree oil (I swear I used to sweat it!)the skin situation has turned more to ‘blemish prone’ in recent years. However, since discovering your blog late last year I have been using both the Effaclar duo+ alongside the accompanying facewash and for what feels like the first time in my life I can leave the house without thinking everyone and their dog is looking at me like some kind of leper! A huge thank you for that.
My baby sister (12 years)has now reached her hormonal age and is suffering as I did, I have introduced her to Effaclar which has helped tremendously.
If your looking for teenage skin or a veteran acne sufferer I’m your girl so please, please, please bear me in mind.

Hello. I am currently using effaclar+duo. Although I do find it helpful (otherwise I wouldn’t still using it) it hasn’t been a miracle product for me. Perhaps a combinations of products could have a better result.

Hi Ruth. I am in my late 30s and still regularly get breakouts. I really despair sometimes as i have a really important meeting and will have spots all around my chin and jaw line. I feel like I suffer more now at this age than I did in my teens – that may not be true but it feels like that. As a general real my skin is combination and quite good except for these persistent spots. If there’s a solution out there I’d love to try it. I love RP products and have read some great reviews of this range so would love to give it a try. Finger’s crossed. Fi

Ruth this opportunity could not have come at a better time for me. I’m currently in the middle of a product frenzy, trying to resolve a skin issue I’ve had for the last year. As someone who has had almost perfect skin for most of her life, this last year I’ve been battling with problematic skin. It really has come as quite a shock. I’ve been back & forth to the doctors and have yet to find a product to resolve the issue. My skin is really congested around my nose & chin and as a make up artist I have really struggled to find products suitable to conceal. I feel like I’m at the last straw, and I’m desperate to find and trial a product. I would do anything for my skin to begin to clear, and would be absolutely honoured if you were to choose me to trial these products.
Thank you so much Ruth for this opportunity, Chantelle x

    Hey Ruth,

I am totally, truly, passionately keen to try this out!

I read about it on Caroline Hirons’ blog a few days ago and was totally intrigued. I’m 23 and am really struggling with breakout prone skin- I had thought that I’d found the solution (Clarisonic and Liquid Gold), but it’s not been as effective as of late. My skin is starting to break out again, is painful and embarrassing and I feel that I need to step things up.

I’d therefore be truly delighted to get the opportunity to try this out, and would be more than happy to provide reviews. feedback.

At nearly 40!? it may seem bizarre to still have acne outbreaks and yet they come. I have tried many regimens with varied success as I also have sensitive/fragile skin. It seem difficult to find a product that is good for my skin but tough on outbreaks so mostly I just cover up and hope for the best. I am willing to give anything a go so will be looking out for this product.

Hi Ruth, I think this is a great idea – I get random bursts of spots and would love to try something that doesn’t leave me looking like a lizard with dry, scaly skin. The fact that it’s so easy to use is a big plus – whilst I love a good beauty routine it can take ages before I can actually get some sleep, so something quick and effective would be perfect.

I would love to try this!!!! I have always used clinique 3 step system and it worked wonders for my skin, but I moved from USA to Spain a year ago and can’t find anything that works as the formulas are different here. I am now getting breakouts and my skin is a mess.

    Hey Ruth,

I’ve hit that old quarter of a century milestone so by now I would have thought that spots would be a thing of my past. I was naive. To combat breakouts I tend to use Effaclar Duo ‘the original’ at night time to keep spots and the likes and bay but it would be good to give the new version a try and see how it plays up to the old version. Also I’ll be going on holiday to the heat and sunshine for ten days where I usually come back and find my skin has turned into a war zone! The three step routine might just be what my skin needs to help it though the blood sweat and tears. Can’t wait till this beauty hits the (virtual) shelves.

    Hello Ruth,

I’ve suffered from acne since I was about 14 – and I’m lucky enough to still have it now at 28. It’s not as bad as it used to be but still bad enough that I’m wearing full slap every day to cover it (which I don’t think helps much). I’ve tried everything from the docs (even had a bout of roaccutane which was pretty nasty). So I’d love to try this set and I would use it exclusively for the 4 weeks and definitely give an honest review.

    Thanks xx

I was never one to suffer from acne or bad blemishes in my teens and felt very lucky when my 18th birthday had past and still hadn’t gotten the typical breakout phase in high school. However it seems I’m just a late bloomer and it’s caught up to me. I have no idea which brands or ingredients I should be looking out for. Would be great to see if this works.

Hi Ruth, this would be right up my street. I’ve suffered from acne for about 10 years and I’m now in my early twenties and it’s worse than ever! Just when you think puberty and all those hormones are over, but no such luck. I have literally tried everything from the natural approach to more chemical and scientific products, and everything else in between.I even started having almond milk in my tea to avoid dairy completely, not very nice I must admit.n So perhaps these products could be the answer? I am skeptic, but as I haven’t really tried much from the Effeclar range (didn’t think it would be “strong” enough)what have I got to loose eh? To be honest, it would be my last resort before going to a dreaded “can you put me on meds to clear up my skin please” appointment, I don’t really want to go on any heavy antibiotics or Roaccutane. So maybe, just maybe this
    this could help.

    Best wishes,

    Desperate Sofie

Oooh that looks fab, I’d love to be able to test it out. I’m currently using the La Roche Posay Toleraine Fluid, Anthelios XL and the Biomedic Pigment and love them all! My skin is quite oily and prone to those really sore, under the skin, rock hard spots on my chin which leave you a little reminder of their presence in the form of a dark, horrible, impossible to cover up scar for months after. I’m getting married in 10 weeks so anything that would help my skin stay pretty stable between now and then would be amazing!

Hi Ruth! Well… I have reached the point where I am happy to try ANYTHING!! For the last 6 months my 27 year old skin has driven me nuts. I have a constant outbreak of angry pimples all around my chin and jawline… They are going from bad to worse :'( A great diet, copious amounts of water and a good skin care routine seem to be doing absolutely nothing to help. So would be fab to give this a go! x

I feel with all the skincare myths that are thrown about, teenagers don’t know how to approach skincare and are often misguided by online recommendations. I am 17 years old and although I don’t suffer with horrendous acne or anything of the sort, I’ve had persistent spots for the past year or so – one leaves, another appears. I know I’m not alone in my situation and feel trying this system would help me (if effective) advise others on how to care for their skin without stripping and overdrying in the hope that it clears spots.

    Hi Ruth,
I would be very keen to try this please.
I am 28 years old but have suffered from acne since the age of 10. I was finally prescribed Roaccutane a couple of years ago which had horrible side effects but has stopped the large facial cysts I used to suffer from. Unfortunately, I still experience break outs, particularly on my chin, and would be very willing to try only this this for a few weeks and to write a review of the trial and result. I have tried so many products but am searching for the perfect solution, maybe this is it!
    Fingers crossed!

Hi Ruth! I am now 18 but have been suffering with terrible acne since I was about 12. Throughout my high school years I was constantly on the hunt for products to get rid of the spots. I was changing my skincare products every week. I now know that a regular routine is key and have noticed a dramatic change in my skin (for the better thank goodness), however it is still a constant battle and I am currently dealing with a few angry spots and all the scars leftover from the many years of terrible skin. I would love to try these products as my skin can be quite sensitive, and as you stated – the products are great for people with sensitive skin! X

I have been suffering with hormonal acne along my chin and jawline for a good year now it comes and goes every few weeks! Very annoying it has also left me with purple scarring:( I have used the effaclar duo before and it worked at unblocking my pores. Hi Ruth! As per your recommendation I tried effaclar Duo+ and loved it. I have yet to try the other products of the range, though. I seem to suffer from spots mostly on my forehead (all the time!!!) and on those “wonderful” days of the month, along my chin, jawline and around my mouth. I have sensitive skin, which doesn’t fare well with anti-spot treatments….Having a “challenge” of using this for only four weeks might be the kick up the bum I need to get it sorted instead of just trying everything I can get my hands on!

  266. July 25, 2014 / 3:45 pm

I would love to test out the full system! I’m a retail makeup artist, so my face always needs a good clearing out after I’ve been testing new foundations and concealers. I suffer from acne along my jawline and found that efficlar duo is the only treatment that doesn’t dry out my already dehydrated skin.

I didn’t have any problemy with my skin until my mid twenties. Now I sometimes have clear complexion, but majority of time I am fighting with some acnes and breakouts. I know for sure that they are not hormonal, so it is purely aesthetic issue. To be honest, I did try Effaclar Duo and it didn’t do anything for my skin. So, I would really love to try Effaclar Duo+ since I am expecting that it is better than the first version.

Would REALLY like to test this kit! I tried duo after hearing your recommendation and got amazing results but they didn’t continue with duo+. By the time it came into stock I had a face full of spots that duo+ wasn’t able to shift. I’ve been suffering from spots since I was in my early teens and am now twenty with quite a few scars and would like to get these amazing results everyone else seems to be getting. I’m now using products Caroline told me to get when I met her in Dublin. Even if I don’t get to try it ahead of time I’ll get it to do a week by week review on my YouTube channel.

    Hi,

I would love to try the Effaclar anti-blemish system. I am 25 and have been suffering with spots since my late teens. I have tried a tonne of different products which have ‘claimed’ that they prevent and heal spots and scarring. However, none of these have worked on me. They still appear (chin, cheeks, forehead) and the scars that remain take forever to heal and are a nightmare to cover. It ends up really affecting your confidence and I would love to be able t go out sans make-up (or at least sporting the minimal make up look). I have heard great things about effaclar and your review made me really want to try this product. I would therefore love to sample and review it.

I would be honoured to be a tester for this exciting new product. Due to the fact I am 17 year old male you will receive a somewhat different perspective as I will be able to offer you a perspective of this product from a mans point of you. I do currently have a few blemishes and I am constantly looking for a reliable product that can help in my on-going battle against my blemishes and this product looks like a dream product. I am a self confessed beauty addict and would love the opportunity to review this product and the privilege of working along side you!

Hello Ruth! I am 18 years old from San Diego, California and have mild/moderate acne (of all sorts). I would say my skin is combination with a slightly oiler t-zone and normal cheeks. My skin is very prone to blackheads, and although I take the time to cleanse properly and acid tone, my skin just seems to get blocked pores more easily than others do.

I have never tried any products from La Roche Posay. Rite Aid sells their products 10 minutes walking distance from my house but I’ve never tried the Effaclar Duo because it isn’t the salicylic acid kind you get in Europe. SO..it would be amazing if I could try this new line of products and give you a thorough response of how it went for me. :)

    Thank you!

Saw this post yesterday via twitter but couldn’t comment on my phone…I wonder if the combination of all three products together will literally work wonders. My skin is generally quite good other than the odd spot and hormonal breakouts but last week I had a number of breakouts appear on my forehead and one gigantic one on my cheek. I’ve been using Effalcar Duo on them, which is usually great but they just wont go (massive sob)! I don’t understand why but anyhow, it will be interesting to see how the trio works. Look forward to hearing peoples feedback :)

I am a 16 year old from Glasgow. I have combination skin and often get breakouts. I have been looking for a simple and easy to use brand that will clear up my skin. I have tried many of the brand that claim to work for teenage skin but none of them have made a huge difference. I would love to try out this set of products and see if they work!

I’d love to try the 3 step routine as I keep getting loads of blemishes and scarring (I’m a teenager so I guess this is fairly normal? but they don’t seem to go away even after a few weeks), and all things I’ve tried so far have either been far too heavy and made my skin oily or too light and barely do anything so I’d love to try this!

    Hi Ruth,

I have never tried the effeclar duo before but have always wanted to. I’m 28 and right in the middle of an explosion of spotiness on my chin, nose and temples. Yuk.

Would love the chance to try this kit out – it sounds brilliant.

Hi Ruth, I would love to be given a chance to try out the new effaclar system. My skin has always been problematic but especially of late. I have become wary on spending a lot of money on new products as I have been disappointed or broken out at times. I will give you my honest opinion if chosen as I know how important it is for a woman’s confidence to have beautiful clear skin and at the age of 27 I am hoping I will too one day soon. Will this kit be my skin’s savior?

Hi Ruth, I’d love to try out the 3-step system! I have yet to find a regime that works, and I’m willing to try anything! I’ve had acne/blemish-prone skin since I was about 14 so I’ve tried many things to clear it up and to no avail!

    Hello Ruth,

I would be honoured to be a tester for this exciting new product. Due to the fact I am 17 year old male you will receive a somewhat different perspective as I will be able to offer you a perspective of this product from a mans point of you. I do currently have a few blemishes and I am constantly looking for a reliable product that can help in my on-going battle against my blemishes and this product looks like a dream product. I am a self confessed beauty addict and would love the opportunity to review this product and the privilege of working along side you!

I appreciate you taking the time out for reading my comment
    Many thanks,

I am 42 and have been dealing with acne my entire life. Some say its a teenage problem but for some of us we struggle for a long time with whiteheads, blackheads and cystic nodules. I am one of them, and I have never found a permanent solution. I would love to try this system!!

I would be more than happy to try this out. I’m 27 (two days away, I’ll count it) and have bouts of acne that can get pretty extreme, including some boil-type ones that never surface. I also have very oily skin, so something like this might work great for me.

    Hi Ruth,
I am a willing participant and would love to test and give honest and thorough feedback about the range. I am 31, from the UK and I regularly get breakouts (unfortunately!). I have tried other products which haven’t really helped, so this would be a good opportunity to try this range and see if it is helpful for others too.

    Hi Ruth,
I’d love to try the 3-step system. Having suffered from acne and spots for about half my life, since they reared their ugly heads at the age of 10 till now. Since then I have tried ever prescribed and over the counter acne treatment, barring the effeclar duo system and roaccutane as that is a road I don’t want to try, it would be great of this was the thing that could keep them at bay.
    Thanks

I would love love love to try this. Salicylic acid has completed changed my skin for the better. I had been suffering with adult acne suddenly at the age of 26 and was at a complete loss as to how to handle it. Your advise & effaclar duo are slowly starting to make a huge difference and this kit sounds exactly what I need to finish the job off!

Hi Ruth, I’d love to test out the anti blemish system. I’ve been suffering with stubborn acne since my early 20s and right now i’m using my derm recommended cleanser, BP & moisturiser. However, BP is very harsh and I’m not too excited about the cleanser as well. My skin loves the moisturiser somedays and not others. I’m also moving towards a more organic diet. So I’d love to test out this complete system and report back with my findings.

Hi Ruth, I would love to try the effaclar set out, I have wanted to try the effaclar duo for a while after your recommendation. Although my skin has cleared up a lot since my teens it still has it moments when I breaks out and I am looking for something to prevent/help these.

    Hi Ruth,

I would be really love to try out the set. I’m 21 and have had acne since I was about 13. I’ve tried out just about everything, from the more medical side with antibiotic tablets and solutions to some quite harsh topical skin treatments. Having typically combination skin this has tended to be a bit hit and miss and find myself in an either or situation with blemishes or extreme dryness (I remember a particularly bad patch with a Rodial set my mum brought back from America).

In general I have always trusted more natural treatments and after years I’ve settled on a focus on diet as well as vitamin supplements, along with something of a weakness for superfood fads. But while this helps to suppress bouts of blemishing it doesn’t go all the way to the inevitable stress related explosions, as well as it feeling wrong to dutifully eat avocados and be so susceptible to Australian beach bunny related goji marketing. I find combining this with a very pared back skin routine helps a lot.

I started using Avene products after being suggested them by a dermatologist after a microdermabrasion treatment. I really liked them but found I still had some dryness even when using a serum and moisturiser. I tried out the La Roche light moisturiser soon after and found them to be the holy grail of French thermal spring water. They seem to give the ‘long lasting under the skin’ type feeling of moisture, and have since tried to perfect which strength of moisturiser is right depending on winter/summer (the all purpose balm is also incredible on sun burn). At the moment I’m using the gel cleanser for oily sensitive skin with the toleriane fluid.

I have wanted to try out the anti-blemish products but am always slightly apprehensive of investing in a set without trying first, so would love to get the chance!

Hey Ruth – I’d love to give these a go! I’m 23 so whilst I’d love to pretend my skin is still going through a teenage phase, it probably isn’t! I’ve been trying the Effaclar Duo amongst my normal skincare, and haven’t really noticed a difference. Therefore it’d be great to take the whole routine back to basics and see if I can banish these blemishes for good! Thanks :)

    Hi Ruth,

First of all I’m a big fan of yours because you got me hooked on the whole skincare subject.
I have combination to oily skin with dry patches around my mouth an cheek area so it’s very complicated for me to find a proper skin care system which isn’t drying.
The Effeclar sounds just right and I would be so excited to try these products.
    I wish you well, Christina

I’ve been fighting acne since I was 12. The doctor solutions didn’t work well though he never wanted to go to acutane. In the past 6 months its been getting steadily worse and I’m running out of ideas. If this worked, it would be a life saver.

Hi Ruth! What a great opportunity! I’m in my twenties with oily/combination East Asian skin, it’s a nightmare trying to clear up those little bumps and such but I loved the Effaclar Duo when I tried it, will definitely be looking to try out the toner. Regardless of whether or not I get to test this I’m really looking forward to reading the reviews! Thanks again =)

    Hi Ruth
I’m 43 years old this week and still troubled by my skin (since my early 20s).
I have combination skin however it’s not too extreme – not too oily nor too dry nor too sensitive. My concern is congestion which leads to break-outs and I have tried so many products without much success. I use effaclar duo, since you recommended it and I think it’s excellent but not the complete answer to fixing up my skin. So maybe adding the other two products will be the solution I’ve been searching for?
Thank you for considering me for the testing. I love products and I can be very focused and disciplined, and I’ll be very happy to report regularly on progress.
    Best wishes, Emma

I love love love the Effaclar range, and I am so happy they are releasing a new toner, as the previous one was awful for sensitive skin. Too much alcohol.
I adore acids for my skin and the thought of a toner like this gets me really excited. Can’t wait for it to be on the market.
My skin is fairly sensitive , prone to blackheads and acne and I would love to try it xxx

    Hi Ruth,

I may seem like the odd one out but I’d love to test this kit on my back. I have quite a developed case of bacne (it looks as good as it sounds) and despite having done a cure of Roaccutane a few years ago (I’m 22 now) it never went away completely. My skin has become considerably more sensitive though, so anything that is formulated for body acne is usually too harsh to use. This seems like a good thorough routine and I know for a fact that La Roche Posay does not irritate my skin :)
