Everyday Hair Heroes…

best hair care products

A nice little hair video to finish off the week. I did a roundup of my most-used hair products – shampoos, hair masques, conditioners and so on – because people are always asking and I don’t often delve into the world of hair on my Youtube channel. Perhaps because I don’t really do a lot to my hair and so the products I tend to use the most are the ones that just make it look sleeker, shinier and give it a bit of an undone vibe. I always think that it might be a bit boring for those who want to know about pink hair dyes and undercuts and semi-mohicans and all of that jazz. Not my cup of tea, I’m afraid.

So it’s all about the grooming and keeping things swishy, for me. Hair products for natural hair – things that you can just bung in and leave. No tools required. Had I included my favourite tools in this video then they would have been – without a doubt – Mark Hill’s Wicked Waver and the Big Hair from Babyliss. Both incredibly easy to use, both pretty affordable. You can find my full review of the Wicked Waver here and there’s a video demo of the Babyliss here. Both can be bought at Boots.com.

Ruth your skin looks lovely in this video (not that it doesn’t usually!) what skincare products are you currently using and what make up do you have on?

Hi Ruth, I loved this video, I am always on the lookout for great hair products. I also have lots of very fine hair and I find it hard to find products that don’t leave it feeling either flat and lifeless or very dry and tangled. I will give all these products a go.

I would like to mention that I already use Colab, I was very sceptical when I first purchased as I have tried so many of these dry shampoos, texturisers and powders, I didn’t find any of them particularly good. The one that I had been using which was supposed to be the dog’s doo-dahs and used by Charlotte Tilbury left my hair in a very weird state and my hair would collapse after a few minutes, it also is TEN TIMES the price of Colab. I LOVE Colab, it literally does what it says on the tin, thank you! I will never be without it now and am collecting the various fragrances. Looking forward to trying the Monaco as Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino is my favourite summer fragrance.

Good luck with the baby Ruth, I can’t wait to hear the news that he/she is finally here. I am SO very happy for you and your husband, take care. xx

Second that comment – you always look lovely but in this vid your make up looks stunning – especially the eye shadow. Wishing you all the best and take care!
