Wedding Guest “Get Ready With Me”

pregnant wedding guest outfit and makeup

I was a guest at Lily Pebbles’ (amazing) wedding last weekend and – even though I was running a bit late – I decided to set my camera up on the windowsill in the hotel bathroom and film my makeup. This has to be the shortest “get ready with me” video ever produced, but all of the important steps are there – if anyone loves the look then perhaps I’ll recreate it as a longer tutorial…

A short and sweet post to go with a short and sweet video – enjoy, you can watch this in the time it takes to make a cup of tea!

I’m wearing the spotty Bardot maternity dress from ASOS – I bought this in leopard print too, cheap and cheerful! http://bit.ly/2diJb3Z

Bag: Chanel, Shoes: Topshop but 1.5 years ago – I can hardly walk in heels at the moment so digging out my chunkier shoes!

Love the look of that Clarins waterproof eyeshadow! I love eyeshadow creams for their dewy look and easy to apply finish. Adding that one to my to-buy list. Thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this. I had no idea there was a product like Vita Liberata Body Blur. I need to run out and get this as my legs are so white my dear husband calls them fluorescent.

That looks like The Swam at Lavenham! Just 10 mins up the road from me.
    Love the lip stick.

You must be the most glamorous pregnant lady out there.

You look so glamorous yet not over the top. I like that you didn’t faff around with a hundred products and spend an inordinate amount of time and yet still produced such a wonderful result. Gives the rest of us time pressed people some hope!

Ruth, once again you are an advert for healthy pregnancy and look stunning.

Your bump looks as if baby c #2 (sorry, that sounds like a foundation shade! Apt for a beauty bloggers baby though) has made themselves completely at home and is growing well! My best friends kids have a similar age gap to yours – hard work when very young but pays off with a constant playmate.

Oh, I do rattle on don’t I? Xx

That’s great to know – thank you! xx

You look amazing as usual! And congratulations on your pregnancy! I was quite impressed by the effect of the body blur, I need this for next summer. Thanks for the lovely video!

Wow! I always assumed those hair curlers would be just as much faff as the old style ones, where you have to curl tiny portions of your hair one at a time and it takes a million years to cover your whole head. But you just grabbed a big chunk and did it in one go!! Is it really that easy? If you tell me you can do large sections of hair at once and then just mess it up with your fingers to look as good as you did, I will buy one immediately!

    • October 5, 2016 / 11:13 am

Yes, so easy! But I can’t find this online now – I think they may have stopped making it!!

I remember those shoes! Wish I’d bought them, ruled them out because gold isn’t practical and cost-per-ratio didn’t stack up. How boring! They look fab on you…

Hi Ruth! I so wish you would do a feature on cruelty free cosmetics and skincare. You have such wonderful taste and it would be a great resource to have all of your cruelty free picks in one place. Thank you!
