Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rose Rose

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick

Every now and then I go for a bit of pink on the lips to make myself feel interesting and snazzy. It’s less in-your-face than red and, if you pick the right shade, it can look really youthful and flattering. Sometimes I stare at myself and everything just looks a bit beige, a bit flat – a spot of pink blush or pink lipstick can do wonders to liven things up especially if you’re tired or hungover.

I’m rather enamoured with this matte pink from Lancome – they have relaunched their classic L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks, bringing in new textures, reinvented shades and smart “click to open” packaging, and the aptly-named Rose Rose (here) is one of my favourites. It’s much brighter than one of those pinks that just looks patted on, but the matte finish keeps it relatively low-key. It’s not a sickly-sweet milkshake shade (though I am often drawn to those) but neither is it a statement fuchsia or magenta sort of affair.

Just a very modern rose. It could almost have been powdered down to this matte finish, don’t you think? It hasn’t been – it’s just a really lovely true-matte formula. And, amazingly, not really drying in the slightest – in fact I like it far more than the creamy lipsticks that I tried from the range. The creamy nude I had didn’t give great coverage – the mattes were opaque and punchy.

You can find L’Absolu Nude at FeelUnique here – the lipsticks they have in stock (including Rose Rose) are currently £22.95.

This looks amazing on you! I bought it when the new collection first came out but haven’t worn it yet, it is quite bright and I have not felt confident enough to put it on lately. It is a great lipstick though, I like the formula and I think the matte finish makes the colour a lot classier than if it was creamy or glossy.

Everytime I try to achieve the fresh look with a pink it just has the opposite effect. I look weird and hungover, even if I had no drinks the night before. Just not my color.

Can’t resist a great matte lip! Definitely agree that sometimes a fresh pop of pink on the lips is perfect for a youthful pick up. Loving this pink.

It’s looks very beautiful on your lips, do you think for brown skin can be nice. Or it’s suitable only for those who have white skin.

This is such a pretty fresh mid-toned pink! It totally does brighten up your face. I don’t tend to gravitate towards these types of pinks but I might have to try one out now. I’ve been really impressed with the new Lancôme mattes as well. :)

This lippie is very similar to Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet in L’Exuberante. Both are beautiful, grown-up pinks. No bubblegum quality to it at all.
