Sunday Tittle Tattle: And Then There Were Two…

model recommends new baby

Hurrah! Baby Number Two (or “New Baby”, as he is known, until we can decide on a name) has arrived. I don’t know whether you follow my Mum & Baby blog, The Uphill, but you can find a slightly more detailed announcement over there. All of us are doing very well, apart from general lack of sleep, but if you are interested in how the birth and first week of c-section recovery went then – again – posts will be over on The Uphill when they are ready. If keeping abreast of both blogs is too much bother, then may I tempt you to sign up via email? All posts will go directly to your inbox – the A Model Recommends sign-up form is here and the one for The Uphill is here.

You’ve probably gathered that service on the blogs is continuing pretty much as normal – I pre-wrote a lot of posts before going in to have the baby – but I may be a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to comments and questions. I do read them (and love reading them) but typing replies with one hand as I feed the baby is really difficult! I end up dropping my iPhone, usually down the side of the bed, which then has to be semi-dismantled before I can manage to fish it out again.

But I thank you for all of your lovely messages of congratulations, it’s very heart-warming to see them every time I log in!

    Hi Ruth,

Congratulations, he is so beautiful. I’ve dipped in and out of your blog and am now a fully committed reader; I’m due baby no.3 in 9 weeks so love reading past and present blogs (this will be my 3rd baby in 3 years so as you can guess I am deeply traumatised and fearful of no.3 imminent arrival).

I anticipate your blog and updates will get me through many night feeds, sore boobs and moments of despair so thank you in advance!

Enjoy these next few weeks of baby bubble and a speedy recovery from your delivery.

Hi Ruth. Can’t wait to read the details & the name of #babyamr2. I had a recommended post under this one of Anjelica at 5 months and they are very alike. Just beautiful. It’s a shame you went through all the GD stuff. My 3rd baby they told me, was off the chart size wize and that they would induce me , luckily I went into labour 2 weeks early and she was a diddy 6lb 2oz. She would have been a perfectly average 7.5/8lb if she had been on time. But all the unnecessary worry you had. However beautifully perfect boy in arms means you can forget that but. Hope you recover well and heal fast. Much love to all your family x

Thrilled to hear of the safe arrival of “New Baby” – I had my first two 17 months apart and would do the same again. It’s lovely having them grow up so close in age. Enjoy!

Congratulations Ruth, and to all at home. He looks perfect, love those cheeks! Have all the rest you need; don’t push yourself to continue as per normal. Take time off the blog if you need to; I for one will still be here when you come back.

Over the past week I have particularly been wondering how you and “New Baby” have been (like I would for a friend), and it’s so wonderful to hear this good news. What a sweet face! So New Baby has no name yet? You could incorporate “New Baby” into it and call him Newton or Agnew. That would be a hoot! Baby 2.0?

Best wishes ruth I think you do an amazing job juggling motherhood and keeping us all happy with your posts….hope Angelica is settling in to her new role as big sister xxx

Oh, take your time. Having a newborn is so special, and with the second one time goes even faster than with the first.

Congratulations Ruth! I’m so happy for you! I had my two daughters 19 months apart, it wasn’t easy the first year but now that little one is 21 months old, they are finally playing together so I can enjoy 30-60 minutes without a baby/toddler in my arms.
    Raise them with joy:)
