My Cult Beauty Skincare Favourites | AD

best skincare products cult beauty

One of my first (and best) discoveries as a beauty blogger wasn’t a single pot of magical cream, or a little tube of face-changing foundation. I wasn’t hooked in by just one eye gel, or bowled-over by a lone cleanser – I was far greedier than that. I fell in love, dear readers, with an entire beauty shop. Whole shelves filled with potions and unguents, aisles of glass-bottled serums and exotically-named sunscreens.

And this was no ordinary beauty shop; it had brands that I had never seen before – products that I didn’t even know existed. Mascaras that only came off in water that was just the right temperature, cleansers that felt as light as air but that took off heavy-duty makeup, acids that you could put on your face!

I am, of course, talking about Cult Beauty. This online treasure trove of beauty delights continues to captivate me and I can spend whole hours trawling through new product launches, reading the little blurbs – which are detailed and intelligent and not your usual regurgitated marketing spiel – and nosing around in the review sections. I suppose that Cult Beauty, for me, serves as a sort of skincare library and resource as much as a place for retail therapy and it helps that I know that Lex, one of the founders, has an almost startling passion for finding effective and interesting beauty products.

It’s skincare month at Cult Beauty, and to celebrate they are offering readers of A Model Recommends an exclusive discount code. There are more details at the bottom of the post, but first, here are five of my Cult Beauty skincare favourites. And in true Cult Beauty style, I have mixed it up with some old, familiar favourites and a couple of newer, more niche discoveries…

Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum | £45:

caudalie vino perfect serum

Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is a silky, complexion-brightening serum that slips underneath your face cream or oil. It has powerful antioxidant properties and has been proven to help with dark spots and pigmentation, but the reason I actually zoom through so many bottles of this is that it’s so intensely hydrating.

Thank You Farmer Shimmer Sun Essence SPF30 | £27:

A new discovery, this ultra-lightweight sunscreen from Korean brand Thank You Farmer has a skin-brightening shimmer and a nourishing feel, but no greasy residue. I often balk at the word “shimmer” where skincare’s concerned, but in this case the effect is one of healthy, plump skin and not a disco ball glimmer. A lot of broad spectrum sunscreens tend to focus on a matte finish, so I like that the Shimmer Sun Essence gives us something a bit different.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist | £25:

My ultimate facial spritz, the Queen of Hungary Mist from Omorovicza is pure luxury in a bottle. I use it for makeup-refreshing, skin-toning and pillow-spraying – the smell is just utterly beautiful. I’ve written about it so much that I’m afraid of repeating myself, but it really is one of my all-time favourites.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rose | £37:

Another new discovery, though the original Liquid Gold is one of my oldest and firmest skincare favourites; Alpha-H have taken their classic exfoliating liquid and added rose extract as well as a whole load of ingredients for keeping the skin hydrated and soothed. If you’re after brighter skin, this wipe-on-and-leave solution gives overnight results with minimal fuss. The rose version is my preferred option for those who haven’t tried exfoliating acids before, and it’s a lovely one for more sensitive skins, but I still adore the no-nonsense original too. Take your pick – they’re both available here.

MV Organic Skincare Rose Soothing and Protective Moisturiser | £26:

One of my most-used skincare staples, the Rose Soothing Protective Moisturiser from MV Organic Skincare is my “skin reset” product. It’s so calming and balancing, I use it whenever I feel as though my skin has been bombarded with too many ingredients, or I’m having a bit of a hormonal moment. It’s absolutely gorgeous on very sensitive skin and feels nourishing without being heavy. I often use it with the MV Rose Plus Booster mixed in for an extra-soothing treat.

Cult Beauty was my first online beauty shop discovery and I keep coming back for more. Usually around the time for the Spring or Fall Goodie Bag.

You’re a terrible influence. My wallet would like me to stop following you immediately. (You and Hirons are simply the best and my skin thanks you.)

I love Cult Beauty! And also this lovely list of goodies you’ve put together. My skin has randomly started struggling from hormonal breakouts right before my time of the month so I’ve been looking for some new lighter additions and exfoliants to try and help. It might be time to head over to Cult Beauty and have a rummage. X

I cherish Cult Beauty! And furthermore this stunning rundown of treats you’ve assembled. My skin has haphazardly begun battling from hormonal breakouts just before my time so I’ve been searching for some new lighter increases and exfoliants to help out. It may be a great opportunity to make a beeline for Cult Beauty and have a scrounge
