I have never been able to resist a bit of a discount and usually, when sales time comes around, I will hunt high and low for something – anything – to buy in order to take advantage of the reduced prices. But when it’s the Very Exclusive sales, things take a bit of a dangerous turn, because instead of having to hunt for things that I *quite* like among rubbish like unwanted lime-green rubber knee-high boots and unfeasibly cropped sweaters, I find myself in an online world where something gorgeous pops up with every click. I end up wanting everything. My shopping basket ends usually has about thirty things in it before I’ve even edited the first draft of my post!
Once again I have an amazing code to share – this one entitles you to 50% off ANYTHING in the VIP sale preview. There are over 1800 items. Not one lime-green knee-high boot to be seen. I’ve picked out a few of my favourite things below – needless to say, I’m not letting this post go live until I’ve secured my most coveted items! I learnt that lesson the hard way earlier this year when I posted about all of my sales picks and not a single one was still available when I clicked through to buy them.
To apply the 50% discount, simply use the code 737LJ at checkout – the prices you see in the preview are the pre-discount ones. The code is valid until midnight tonight.
The Little Black Party Dresses
REISS Lara Lace Sleeve Dress, £160 down to £80 here: this is so unbelievably chic. The high neck and long sleeves make it so classy, the bodycon cut is just sex-on-a-stick.
BY MALENE BIRGER Walios Dress, £245 down to £122.50 here: I feel as though a Bond Girl might wear this. Again, a high neck (I have a thing for high necklines this year, can’t you tell from all of my cowl-neck jumper posts?!) and a beautifully flattering silhouette.
The Logo Tees
Ah, me and my logo t-shirts! Great with jeans at the weekend, or tucked into a sexy pencil skirt and dressed up with heels. (See below.) The first I have picked out purely because of the gap in the teeth – Markus Lupfer’s Star Lip T-Shirt, £57.50 down from £115 here.
The second is the Forever Cowboys t-shirt from Zoe Karssen. A bit retro, a bit jolly, £30 down from £60 here.
The Appropriately Festive Footwear
Karen Millen High Heeled Pointed Court Shoe: £65 down from £130 here. These are what I like to call radiator-clingers, because in shoes this high I end up spending my time frantically grasping around for things to hold onto. Usually it’s a radiator. Anyway, they don’t get sexier or more classic (or festive!) than these hot orange-red courts. And at £65 it’s rude not to.
Converse in Santa Claus red? Go on then. £22.50 here.
The Cosy Cashmere
Oh yes, a cowl-neck, for what fashion post of mine would truly be complete without one? This is by the luxe brand Cocoa Cashmere; totally decadent and soft. Its relaxed cape-style fit makes it the ultimate non-idiotic Christmas jumper – perfect for post-dinner stomach expansion. £185 down to £92.50 here.
This zip-detail knit is also by Cocoa Cashmere and reminds me of the kind of jumper that my very well-dressed friend Nicki would wear. Therefore I am getting it. It’s casual but in a come-hither way. Perhaps it’s the zips and their promise of skin beneath. (What an earth am I wittering on about?) This is £85 down from £170 here.
The “Surprise” Luxury Stocking Fillers
Two stocking filler options for you here – feel free to email this page to your loved one(s) and then pretend to look all surprised when you open your Christmas presents. First, the Myrte sunglasses from Chloe. Just add a silk headscarf and a convertible and – er – a road in the Cote d’Azur.. These are £97.50 down from £195 here.
The second is a gorgeous calf hair clutch from McQ Alexander McQueen, £142.50 down from £285 here. Well, you didn’t think you’d get away with reading a whole post and NO mention of leopard print, did you? Ha!
