Ah, finally a lash conditioner that I might stick to! Probably because it’s Chanel. And it doesn’t feel like a lash conditioner. And it makes any mascara you put on top go on nice and smoothly and look like a mega-watt lash-volumising super-duper mascara. As tested out by yours truly using a variety of good, not so good and truly awful mascaras. All were, in my opinion, nicely improved by the Chanel base coat.
This treatment helps to strengthen and nourish lashes (generally the idea behind lash conditioners!) but for me, the main appeal of this is that it makes my lashes look so full with just one coat of mascara! I’m not at all blessed in the lash department, especially since I pulled most of my lashes out, circa Autumn 2010, but this base coat + one coat of mascara = long, thick, jet-black lashes.
I think – for me, at least – making my lash conditioner into a part of my makeup routine rather than my skincare routine helps me to put it on more regularly. It doesn’t take much effort to sweep some Beauté des Cils through, and because it’s Chanel, it feels more like a treat than a chore! God, how terrible am I – all it took was a little bit of luxury to make me finally adhere to a lash-conditioning regime!
Chanel’s Beauté des Cils is available from April 15th 2011 priced at £22.50, in stock at Selfridges HERE!
