Christmas Gift Guide: Gift Splitting Ideas

Christmas Gift Guide: Gift Splitting Ideas

Ta-da! Here it is, the first of the Gift Guides. And we begin (rather frugally for me!) with the idea of ‘gift splitting’, which, for the uninitiated, means buying multipacks or gift sets and dividing the items up into new gifts. The possible combinations with gift splitting are endless – you could give simple little presents of a pretty nail polish and hand cream, or you could go to town and build up luxurious hampers of product. The main points that I want to make about gift splitting are that a) it will often work out much cheaper than buying straight ‘off the peg’ and b) it allows gifts to be personalised and appear more thoughtful. Win-win.

I have unashamedly nicked this idea from BeautyBay (I posted about their article here) but I think that I have come up with a few rather neat suggestions of my own!

There are a couple of things from ASOS that I didn’t put in the video – they have a great selection of Christmas gifts for all budgets this year!

1) Benefit’s ‘Ticket to Glossytown’ (above) – a set of six luscious little lip glosses that work out at just over £3 each (£19.50 from

2) POP’s incredible Nail Glam Trio in ‘Goot Time Girl’ – each polish works out at £4. You should see the shades – incredible! There’s a neon pink, a bottle packed full of silvery glitter and then the third polish, which is like mini sequins to either layer over a colour or wear alone. I love these, and they’re not at all my usual cup of tea! (£12 from

One definite perk with this gift splitting lark is that often you can sneak a little something in for yourself – as demonstrated in the video below! All of the gift ideas are linked to below the video pane – most of the stockists ship worldwide.
