I am absolutely loving e.l.f.’s shimmery eyeliners at the moment – they are a permanent fixture in my makeup bag. They’re not shimmery in a brash, glittery way, they just look slightly metallic which makes for a soft, easy-to-wear daytime eye.
Gunmetal is a brilliant alternative to black for a sexy, sultry eye; especially if you’re blonde and feel that jet black looks a little too strong. Ditto the ‘Boldly Bronzed’; it’s a soft, wearable version of your standard medium brown shade. I have had one or the other (or both!) of these pencils in my bag over the last few weeks and I use one just before going in for a casting to define my eyes. The pencils are soft, and I find myself having to sharpen them regularly, but considering their price, that doesn’t quite send a bolt of fear through my heart.
These really are about as affordable as makeup can possibly get, yet the quality is very nice indeed. Yes the colour does slip a wee bit (on me, at least, but I do have quite oily eyelids!) but overall, price considered, I’d say that these pencils are outstanding.
e.l.f. Shimmer Pencils are £1.50 each from e.l.f. cosmetics.
