I read The Artist for the book club I belong to. I liked the descriptions of the countryside and the general scene setting but didn’t feel the characters were very well fleshed out. As for the plot,I began to find it increasingly implausible- does anyone else watch Fake or Fortune on the BBC?
I can thoroughly endorse the tortilla however - very good and a quick and easy lunch.
The Artist was in the book exchange at our hotel so I brought it home. Looking forward to reading it now.
I’ve just finished London falling by Patrick Radden Keefe. I’d highly recommend. I’ve had the lurgy so finished it in a day, it’s non fiction but eye opening! I’ve since started watching ‘The Gold’ on IPlayer which ties in quite nicely.
Have you tried the Unearthed Courgette Tortilla, heaven! My Sainsbury's has stopped stocking them and I am bereft.
