Philip Kingsley Flaky Itchy Scalp Shampoo

Philip Kingsley Flaky Itchy Scalp Shampoo

Philip Kingsley is like the Don of Hair. I remember when I was first modelling – so going back ten years now – and I had a horribly itchy scalp. I thought that it was ‘dandruff’ (always the reason wheeled out for any scalp problems!) but it was more likely a reaction to all of the different things being put on in my hair. I used to have my hair dyed about – oooh – once a day, and about five cans of hairspray and dry shampoo blasted at my scalp on every shoot! I was sent to the nearest Philip Kingsley stockist where I was given the Flaky Itchy Scalp Shampoo, and miraculously it sorted out my itches straight away!

Ten years later and I have fallen back into Philip’s open, comforting arms. Once a week, just to keep my scalp in tip-top form, I treat it to a good old lather with this gentle, apple-scented shampoo. Now and then I even follow it with the Scalp Toner, which is another invention of Phil’s well worth a mention. Applied to the scalp after all of your washing and conditioning has been done, it helps to absorb excess oil and increase blood flow to keep the skin healthy and non-greasy.

Both products are non-stripping, so safe to use on coloured hair, but they are also designed to be gentle on delicate skin. So many scalp products are harsh and simply strip all life from the scalp in an attempt to clear away dandruff, but they simply prolong (and often exacerbate) the problem. The Flaky Itchy and the Scalp Toner are now a firm part of my weekly hair routine – again. Welcome back Philip, my long-lost friend!
