eye makeup review

This palette from YSL is fast becoming my favourite makeup item of the upcoming season. The shades are just spot on, for me: classy neutrals with a hint of fine shimmer and then that slate grey-blue that provides a bit of contrast. You may remember how much I fell in love with the Marrakech Sunset palette a few months ago – well this is history repeating itself! I’m using the shadows almost every day at the moment – I find them easy to blend and they’re really buildable if you’re after a more intense look.

You’ll see the palette “live in action” in my next beauty video, but you can find it in stores already; the colour combination on the left with the acid green is called Downtown and the one on the right is Uptown. I mistakenly thought that they were called “Arty” and “Classy” – perhaps that’s the US versions. You can find them online at FeelUnique.com or at YSL counters. Here’s a preview of my eye look from the next “face of the day in a circle” post:

I use a lot more of the silvery-blue in the video tutorial, pushing it along the lashline top and bottom as a kind of accent colour. Please do excuse the rather extreme blusher tones on the above photograph – I’ve taken it from Instagram and it has a filter over the top of it!
